I want to get them the way Harmy intended. Plus I can't seem to find a site offering what the My Spleen page does.

I am not sure if Harmy's prophecy included Google or not. But, if so, I think you should be a heretic and try Google.

There is evidence of people in *this very thread* doing just that. Some of them even grabbed the files and *then* joined this forum to discuss them! I didn't get the files from myspleen originally. I used the google.

Harmy did not intend people to spam his thread with torrent invite requests. I think.

You don't need Myspleen to get Despecialized, you only need Google and brains.

So I guess I should have stared out by saying that I just discovered this project. I've been researching for a few days about what Harmy has done and looking for how to download the files. Harmy's original post pointed to the My Spleen forums to request and invite but when I tried to join the forum, my login is rejected and it says that my account doesn't exist, yet I cant make a new account with my E-mail. So anyway long story short I've ended up here looking for help. I love these films and seriously cant wait to watch the Despecialized Editions. Im not asking for a step by step from someone but maybe just some advice. Thanks again.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound like I was spamming.

It might not have seemed like spam, but when you consider that the thread that is specifically stated to not be for what you're doing is polluted with hundreds of people doing what you're doing: it's spam.

I don't know what your problem is with the myspleen forums. What we're telling you is that there are other torrent sites with it that are a google away. They're not as nice and cozy as a private torrent tracker, but they have it seeded, and plenty of us got it using google to find these other sites, and not spleen. The only downside is that when he releases a new version, it might take a week to get to those public sites. That won't happen anytime soon, you'll probably manage a myspleen invite by that point in the future. Public trackers are no obstacle for you now.

Ok thanks for the response. I'll look for something tonight. I'm hoping to make up a homemade set like some of the others on this forum have. I can manage the whole dvd burning and cover printing. I just wanted to make sure I was downloading the right file. So in my mind the best way to go about that was to go to the source. But if everyone's confident about just finding a public torrent I'll believe it.

Thanks again!

People have posted details (recently, I think) on how to ID the correct files by size and/or checksum.

Seems like I downloaded MKV versions of ESB and ANH...but I read somewhere that it's best to get the AVHD version? (unsure if I have the acronym right there)

Which version is best for the intended use to put it on Blu-Ray?

If u intend to put it on a blu-Ray disc then u have the right version.

The MKV is best for blu-ray? I thought AVCHD was the .iso that was designed specifically for putting it onto a blu-ray disc. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

AVCHD is for those with a blu player but not a burner.  It goes on a dual layer DVD.

So is the MKV of better quality then, judging by the file size?

Yes. It's also missing most of the eighty seven* alternative audio tracks.

Okay, now I have the MKV. I tried using ImgBurn and all I got was a disc that wouldn't play on a conventional player, but would, when opened on my computer, act like a data disc with the MKV file for the movie on it, which could then be clicked to open. How do I burn the movie on a disc in a way that will work?  Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, I didn't think you'd jump ahead and try to just burn the file. There's a technical section on the forum for this kind of thing.

Use "tsmuxer GUI" and convert the mkv to bluray iso. You can mount the iso on your computer to test, if you like, before burning.

Hello¡¡¡ I have a problem with the 2.5. I was watching it and suddenly in the trash compactor scene the audio (Spanish 2.0 audio track) changes to Latin Spanish and during the scene it changes a few times between the two tracks and returns to only Spain Spanish until the end. An error with the original audio track?

No, an error with one of the DVD releases.  I'll PM you a corrected track.
