A movie color grade condensed in just one image:

http://moviebarcode.tumblr.com

the first thing I thought is “nice, but useless…” -  then I found this avisynth script:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?55754-quot-Bar-code-quot-images-for-famous-movies&p=731122&viewfull=1#post731122

and wasted two minutes to download and test it… then I realized a thing…
“what if we use this for a ‘fingerprint’ of the movies we are using?”
It could be useful to make comparison between a movie with different color grading at a glance!

An example from The Arrival - top IT DVD, bottom US BD (click for larger versions):

I wonder if this would be a good way to try and help identify where certain versions of a film came from?  Not just released sources such as LD, DVD, BR, etc., but caps and re-encodes as well...

It would be cool to have a barcode for each of the Star Wars releases.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

What about a "proper" Moviebarcode website? So it will be possible to understand a color grading of a movie at a glance!
