I know there are a lot of differences between the original trilogy dvd release and the theatrical release.

But, that same issue happens to the prequels to?

If yes, were can i get those versions?

There are laserdisc/DVD bootleg and TV rips of TPM.

I think the only available AoTC theatrical versions are recorded from theaters.

Not aware of any 'Sith' theatrical versions. But as far as I know, there are only three changes. They're ridiculously insignificant, which makes it even stranger that they were made:

1. When the clones repel down towards the Grevious/Obiwan battle, voices are added. (changed for Blu-ray, not on DVD/HDTV)

2. They added rust/growth to the top of the Wookie huts. (changed on Blu-ray, not on DVD/HDTV).

3. They (probably accidentally) removed a wipe on Mustafar for the DVD. Reinstated it on Blu-ray.

This is interesting. I always thought the theatrical cut of "Sith" can be achieved by combining the video from the Bluray and the audio from the NTSC DVD. Do you have any pictures or more detail about the changed Wookie huts?

The best way to do that would be to use Schorman's HDTV version probably, for the hut.

It's during order 66, I think. It's a shot that pans downwards towards a trooper getting the order message. Yoda is in the background. Extra rust and barnacles have been added on the blu-ray.

So, why on earth did this change? I feel like it must have been something in the rendering pipeline that mistakenly didn't get added to a previous release or something.

edit: https://youtu.be/IiCn0O4aF_8?t=51s depicts the change.

Given how trivial these things are, I think it would probably be ideal to get a cam/telesync to review before anyone actually bothers to render a theatrical "cut" of the film. There's got to be other small changes.
