Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released) — Page 536

Can someone post the checksum of SW 2.5 AVCHD ISO? On ESB 2.0 the checksum was listed in the readme file, but it's not on SW 2.5. Normally I wouldn't bother with the AVCHD, but I want to show it to a friend of mine and he doesn't have a way to play the MKV on his TV. There are two download sources on Paradox for SW 2.5 AVCHD, and both have different checksums...

I'm sorry if this is way too late, but I've been gone for a year overseas and now that I'm back I've got some questions if you guys wouldn't mind answering.

Has Harmy finished all three movies completely? Where can I download them?

Thanks.

Does anyone else on here take the existing MKV and AVCHD files (for ROTJ), and convert them to an HD mp4 via Handbrake?

This makes for great looking files that play on my apple tv and iPad.

To me it was a lot easier than locating a Blu Ray Burner, finding burning software, etc.

I realize it's more compressed, and burning a blu ray would look better AND allow me to hear the DTS-HD track, but until I buy a blu-ray burner, it allows me to watch these beautifully restored films in HD, on a variety of displays.

If this is a redundant post, I apologize.  I've just looked through almost every post, and I haven't seen anyone mention doing this.

Where did you get all three films for Blu-Ray? Are they all finished?

The 1.0 versions of all three movies, which draw primarily from the DVDs and laserdisc footage, are all released. Harms has put out HD versions of Star Wars and Empire (2.5 and 2.0, respectively) that use the Blu Rays as their basis and use more 35mm footage. He's working on 2.0 of Jedi currently.

Where can I download 2.5 for Star Wars and Empire to burn on Blu-Ray? Thank You.

Actually, FWIW, the 1.0 versions were mostly HD-sourced as well, using the HD broadcast of the 2004 SE.  2.x were the first versions to use the Blu-rays as a source.  The 1.0 versions were also much more heavily compressed than the 2.x series, but they were still HD.

I see so many people trying to get invites from MYSpleen, and not having any success (like me).

I also see several others asking where they can get these versions, but I realize the forum rules prevent posting torrent links.

What I think is a better solution is for you to just read the info at this site:

http://pastebin.com/PYvJGkRE

If this is also against forum rules, please let me know, and I'll delete.

But it's what I used, and I now have the latest versions to all 3 Despecialized versions that Harmy has done an INCREDIBLE job on.

Thanks again Harmy.

i must be really unlucky guys because I'v been trying to get this for over a year now with no success. I'v tried googling 756A3641E063D773ADFF18BFC73E0901FA14C24Fuwith no success - it goes to a site but then when you try and download it, it times out.

I do have a Myspleen account and I've had Bit Torrent open for over 24 hours but no-one's seeding. Could someone pretty, pretty please seed it??? I'll leave my computer on permanently to let others download it too, I'm that desperate to download this.

PLEASE!!! :)

Those are some of the best seeded torrents on the spleen. Try using uTorrent instead.

Only utorrent 2.2.1, newer ones are terrible. They even went as far as hiding a bitcoin miner inside the client. Stay away.

Try qBittorrent or Deluge, they are great clients.

+1 for qBitTorrent.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Googling the hash does not "go to a site" - it presents 10 pages of search results linking to various torrent sites which have a copy of the torrent you can download. Any of the ones on the first page should work and no membership required. Sometimes it can take a while to get peers, but they are certainly there. Me for example.

However if you have a myspleen account, you shouldn't need to do that because it is apparently well seeded there. If you aren't able to download it then I respectfully suggest that there is something very wrong with your bittorrent setup. There are any number of reasons it might not work, faulty or banned client, ISP blocking torrent traffic, router/firewall blocking torrent traffic, etc etc etc.

I use rtorrent and have no difficulties at all, but rtorrent is a linux thing. I wouldn't have a clue what torrent client is currently good on windows.

I still don't understand everyone's issue in downloading these editions.

In the link I include below, it has an alternate option to My Spleen.  It's another site, with directions on how to use jdownloader (free app) to download all the segments, and then automatically combine all the parts to create the mkv file.

The only painful part was having to type in a captcha code for every part (37 for for Star Wars).  While I'm sure there's a fix for that, I typed in a code 37 times, and then, low and behold, I had the mkv file.

I then did it again for Empire, and ROTJ.

I didn't have any experience using torrent, downloading movies, anything.

So if I figured it out, you all can too.

Again, very good instructions here: http://pastebin.com/PYvJGkRE

PS many of those torrent sites have a link to download the movie direct, and another link to download the .torrent file. I recommend against the direct download links as they often ask you to install some very dodgy looking downloader software. Get the torrent and use a torrent client you trust.

I Googled that torrent hash number, and after poking around on a couple of dodgy sites found what appeared to be a legitimate .torrent file for the ANH 2.5 mkv on some site called isohunt.to (slightly dodgy).  I opened that file in BitTorrent on my Mac and was able to download the 17 GB file over the course of a few hours.  I left my computer on to seed for most of the rest of the day, uploading 48GB for others.

Isohunt has been around for ages. Having said that, any and all of those public trackers lease ad space out to companies that simply use the space to make fake download buttons which can result in trojans, etc.

Use adblock if you're going to use such sites. And even if you're not, use adblock if you're going to use the world wide web.

 Blu-torrents? Is that replacing green-torrents?
