Your points are fair, but I have thought about them before, and didn't entirely ignore them when typing up my post. I distinguish between "insufficient evidence" (i.e. lack of proof) and no evidence. In the latter case, choosing not to believe is entirely justified. However, I believe that there is evidence, in the form of miracles, the Christian writings we have within and without the New Testament (not least being the apostles willingness to die for their beliefs, though I recognize that one must first accept that that is true in order to accept it as evidence), personal experiences/visions, etc. That isn't concrete enough for many, but it is enough that I think it safer to be on the side of faith, especially since it brings me great happiness and a feeling of peace that non-belief doesn't, regardless of how true my religion actually is. (Naturally, that happiness cannot be achieved without some level of belief, which some, like yourself, feel isn't possible from a scientific and logical perspective.)
