Perhaps it was unwise to let off-topic go unmoderated. The other parts of the forum remain moderated, but they haven't become clones of TFN; everyone's still able to speak their minds, just with (relatively) clean tongues and decency.
Letting this part of the forum go -- quite literally, it seems -- has only really served to give the less conscientious posters license to act like juvenile assholes.

I'd hate to see this place moderated...it does have a certain charm because it isn't.

I absolutely agree. The amount of circlejerkery here is definitely annoying. Even if it were to remain with a light touch, some moderation would be a great idea.

Can we just erase the last two weeks of off-topic? What has happened? It's no fun anymore! Everybody getting offended, lecturing others, having one conversation spread to four different threads, all conversations have their place but they don't need to contaminate every thread.
I feel indirectly somewhat responsible for all this. It seems to all be a very indirect result of me posting that stupid picture in the religion thread. I posted that dumb picture, people got offended, and it turned into a big thing that kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger. Do I need to leave to make this place fun again? I'm willing to self sacrifice to save the fun of this forum for others. lol.
But seriously. Stop it. Let's go back to having fun. NOW.

Didn't you post that picture after things started heating up with Id? And there was also all that stuff with imperialscum weeks before that.
Either way, I'd put the blame on either of those two for starting it (even if you did exacerbate the ordeal after it got going).
Yeah, I don't blame you, Possessed. You meant no harm, you removed the picture, and the embers of argument had already been fueled. I think there are those who simply meant to start and perpetuate an argument. I probably became far too defensive and am partially to blame. But I do wish things were back to the way they were before the Dark Times...before the imperialscum....

There is no need for you to leave. This stuff is not your fault. Perhaps it is mine. I did create my religious thread and then a thread for debated stuff posted in same and the fighting took off from there. I am sorry. All I wanted was to celebrate Holy Week by posting pictures depicting the events of same. I never thought it would evolve into this mess. I do regret the mess that has occurred. However, I have, as of yet, no intention of leaving.

My mom is raising a sink if I watch movies and Tv shows on my widescreen TV that I bought for the family back when I had a job, in any other setting then squeezing the widescreen picture into a 4:3 frame. She keeps saying that you can't see actor's faces in widescreen and she takes it as a personal insult when I say that the faces look long and don't look right with that setting because it's "what works for her" and that even when I am the one who put a movie in and she just came into the living room "I have no right to force her to watch it in a way that doesn't work".
I really need a job and to move out. I am looking and going through the programs but that can take over a year and I am really getting stressed out now. What is more my mom is making me take her for walks every day and bugging me about every single little thing around the house and at my age it just feels too weird but again when I try to explain this to her she takes it as a personal attack. i think it's because my dad is never around when she is because of his work and having dialisis for his kidneys, so she is using me as a stand in and at my age when i have never had a real girlfriend it just feels too weird.
There is nothing anyone can do about it and I am not saying it is hopeless or that I am going to kill myself or anything, I just have no one to vent to in person right now and I feel about ready to snap.
I think once I get out of here I will refuse to have anything to do with Woman for the rest of my life. I am sorry but with the way my brain works and how I get easily stressed out the way even the littlest thing becomes a whole emotional mess and a fight to the death just doesn't work for me. I really want to become a hermit who only has to worry about myself and my own problems.
Sorry for venting about problems no one can fix, but I just needed to let off some steam. Thanks for letting me do that, it's a big help.
How high does she raise the sink? If it's more than 5 feet off the ground that's just hateful.
Just kidding. In all seriousness when you do get your own place I think you'll change your mind about swearing off women. When you live by yourself it's more free and it's much easier to attract women when you have your own place.
Long-term separation from women won't do you any favours. I should know -- I've never been with one, and it's one of the reasons why I feel so very sick inside.
