THX certainly has turned into this rabbit hole we've not seen the bottom of yet.

The 80's Japanese LD of The Shining had the blue closing credits too. (I don't have it anymore, but I might still have a capture of it lying around.) I think it somehow slipped by Stanley in those early days of home video. He certainly didn't sign off on the blurring of Ms. 237's nether regions. If you've ever seen the tv version she's surrounded by fog, (which apparently was SK approved) which makes the scene even more creepy in a way.

I don't know if the version that runs on AMC these days is like the ABC tv cut. I tried once or twice to snag a vintage betamax of the ABC broadcast on Ebay, but struck out.

I wish I could recall how THX was censored when I first saw it on tv in the late 70's. Certainly all that illegal sexual activity had to go. ;)
