I didn't know that they were LDS. I just picked the pics I liked. : ) I hope the pics I posted this week were enjoyed by at least some here.

Well here's something we can agree on--I too love the pagan festival of Oestre, the goddess of fertility. (Look it up.)
I mean, Christ, don't Christians (and yes, Mormons, too, ender) even wonder where the name came from for what is supposedly their central holy day?
How much of that is accurate, and how much of it was invented after Christianity developed? There's a lot of crap out there of this sort, and I've learned not to trust these sorts of comparisons without further scrutiny.

Who says we don't wonder? I love how you immediately assume that we're all, each and every one of us, ignorant of our traditions. I am aware of the Eostre festival, whence comes the name of Easter, but the name isn't important. That festival was Christianized, and though the name stuck, the principal celebration, of Jesus Christ's resurrection, is a Christian celebration.
EDIT: And some churches do prefer to use another name for Easter that is more Christian, i.e. "Resurrection Sunday."

Uh-huh, because hunting for brightly-painted eggs and worshipping an anthropomorphized rabbit have so very much to do with, like, some bearded ghost guy haunting ancient Judea...

This is a thread for me post Christian thoughts and pics and stuff like that. I do not wish this to be a thread to debate religion. Feel free to debate religion and Christianity and, but please do so in another thread. Please keep anti-relgion and anti-christian and disrespectfull stuff and mockery out of the this thread. I thank you in advance for doing so.
EDIT: I have created a thread specifically to debate anything posted in this thread: The Debate Anything Posted In "Warbler's Christian Thread" Thread.

What if God was one of us?

If so, you better pray that the bus he's riding while she's singing that song, doesn't hit a puddle and soil your favorite Sunday dress.

No, I don't wonder, not at this point. I knew that long ago. Thanks again for trying to make yourself look smart, but really, there are smart people who believe in God. Your arrogance is not justified.

Well, I think every day is a day for you to celebrate your own bigotry, because you truly do revel in it.

Darth Id strikes me as the kind of atheist who was brought up in a fundamentalist household. Fundies-turned-atheists almost always cling to the "us vs. them" mindset they were raised with, just with the tables turned.
^Agreed.
ditto.
