If it's not safe for some work spaces, it's just as well it didn't make it in.

Yep.
(even if you wanted to)
Nope.
but this would have been amusing in the opera house scene (probably not safe for some work spaces).
The entire five minute Springer sequence is finally done and currently uploading. Right now I'm only planning on having my preview team look at it for comment...but do you guys want to see it too? Or should I save it for the release?
You could mime a description of it and put the audio up for us to watch.
I rather like surprises so from now in I'm going to wait for the final cut of it and trust your sense of humour.
How close do you think you are to releasing this thing?
I might release it in a month or two :-D

I'd like to be done before the end of the year, but there is a lot of change coming in my life (nothing bad) and I don't know how much time I can devote to this over the next several months.
Understood. I'm sure it will be worth the wait....
As suggested by greenpenguino...
It sounded slightly garbled to me at first, (I initially thought he said "are you in danger?") but I hear it more clearly now. :)
Where were you in '77?
Ok, so I tried a few more things.

First one is the previous version, where I cut up dialogue from Vader, plus "angel" from a JEJ reading of the bible where he says "angels." Second and third versions are attempts to "vaderize" other dialogue, based on youtube video suggestions on using audacity to adjust pitch and add echo. Version two is the original TPM "are you an angel" and version three is a recording of my voice.
I think version two sounds the worst by far. Ani's voice is so high that no amount of pitch correction sounds right. My recording sounds the smoothest, but doesn't sound like Vader. I think the first is still the best.
Ideally, I could find a better source of JEJ saying "angel," or I could vaderize my voice a little better. I can't figure out how to give the recording a little more of that mechanical vader sound, plus I do a terrible JEJ. If anyone out there does a good JEJ impression, I'd love to hear it.
I don't know, I kind of like the second one. ;)
You could make a entire gag out of Vader's voice being tweaked until they get it right. If you can create a closeup of the main medical droid, and add goofy sound fx of him adjusting the voice, that would sell it. Might also give Vader a new motivation to crush all the droids in the room.
I am aware of voice changing gizmos that the more elaborate Vader costumers use, but have no idea of the quality or price.
I agree the first one is the best the more I listen to it.

I think #1 works great. I also like the idea of his voice modulator being broken at first. Like that stupid Techno Union guy from Ep2.

Mesa like-ah dis.
Ideally it would work like this - first, little Ani's voice untouched. Second, Ani's voice as in the clip (pitch and echo modified). And third, the Vader voice saying it.
The only problem I see is that if he says "are you an angel" to the med droid, it steals the thunder from him saying it to the Emperor.
Understandable?

Is it supposed to be idiocy?

It is. Early results are not so good :(
I think you just need the right bits to construct the word is all. And Hayden's latest movies, Outcast and American Heist seem to be out on video already...

Trust me, I tried plenty of combinations for both idiocy and stupidity, and that was the best I was able to do.

I'll have to see if I can find a script.
You can rent the movie on youtube, but $12.99 seems kind of steep.

So...I'm slowly losing my mind as I've been bedridden for over 96 hours now with what I originally thought was food poisoning but now I'm not sure exactly what it is I'm dealing with (tests are pending). At any rate, I uploaded the first hour of the edit as it currently stands just to take my mind off things.

Yikes! Hope you feel better soon.
