I still don't understand why anyone cares that someone disagrees with or has "hard feelings" towards them.

Did I ever say that I care, or that I don't want him back, or that I wouldn't make the best of it if he returned? Did I say I wouldn't try to work on our problematic discourse, though I felt the effort was one-sided? I think I said I would continue to try to be the bigger person. That means I would apologize when not receiving apologies, trying to remain civil when he turned the conversation ugly. It's not him personally I did not enjoy, it's how he engaged in debate. It became disrespectful and showed great ignorance. He either deliberately or ignorantly avoided certain topics and repeatedly attacked me in positions I didn't even hold. It took away the fun from our conversations. And through it all, I continued to try to make the best of it, constantly trying to assure him that I wanted to be his friend. He is still welcome to return if he ever wants. But either he will have to choose to improve his debate strategies so they will make more sense and less offense, or else I will have to choose to avoid engaging him in debate altogether.
