Hello everyone...
I'm new here but I can't wait to put my 2 cents.
All previously mentioned points about Haiden apperance were logic but not quite logic...

YOU were talking about redeeming, second chance in LIFE and all these things but let's face it... all this is FALSE!!! WHY?

Lets analyse that scene...

1. Luke turns back and He can see 3 person appearing in special order: Ben, Yoda and ... "a perfect stranger"!!! YES!!The third person is completely unfamiliar to Luke Skywaker because He sees Him for a first time in his life!!!
As we perfectly know, Luke -when he was a kid- didn't know his father or even mother... He hadn't got any photos, holograms or whatever...of them. In ROTJ He even asked Leia for any recollections of his mother but he didnt get much of it... For Luke his own father was , to tell the truth --- a black hole.
And here comes the memorable moment at the Death Star when he finally manages to see his father's TRULY face --- face damaged by the Past - Luke just couldnt know about, face changed by years in Helmet, and face changed by the Dark Force--- Face which isn't young and definitly isn't Haiden Christensen's stupid mouth!!!

2. And now it's time for the big question --- why the hell does Luke smile and look so happy at the end?? Especially when he can't recognize the third person !!! That's rhetorical question cos we all know the answer ---- Lucas made one of his worse mistakes!!! Thinking about the whole story and putting all the pression on the intergration of all episodes he forgot about ONE think ... Luke isn't one of the audience and he doesnt know all the story as we do. He doesnt know that this guy with stupid expression on his young face is his father. This blond ALIEN doesnt mentally connect with the MAN who saved him minutes ago from painfull death and whose face he saw once in his life and will always remember. Luke only can assuming that this guy is his father but he cant be sure. So after being so happy with Ben and yoda apperance he should just slam his head in the nearest tree seeing the next completely strange person.

The proof:
One more time our "precious" Lucas proofs that he hasn't ability for managing any consistency in his artistic work. He make Luke acting like he is not the part of the story but he is omniscient like any of the audience knowing the prequel episodes 1 , 2 and even 3. But he doesnt know cos he didnt even exist then.
Thats why I think it is the main and unspeakable flaw in DVD edition of original trilogy which continuously goes away its own origins and the basic laws of logic.
