Does anyone know if a restoration project has ever been started for the young Indy tv series? I have yet to take a look at the official DVDs, but from what I’ve read they are somewhat of a disaster.

Yes, they are a disaster indeed. DNR to the max, a really ugly magenta tint and wrong contrast levels throughout most of the material are only three of the technical problems.
I also looked for a restoration project, but never found anything.
Don't forget the reediting, that's the main problem
Yes, thats the worst offender, especially the bridging segments.
Yikes, didn't know about the DNR. That's a serious bummer. Since it seems there hasn't been a proper restoration, I think I am going to make this my summer project. Does anyone have any tips/opinions on what might be the best place to source the material from? I know there's a japanese laserdisc box set out there
Yes, but according to the LDDB they have Japanese subtitles. :/

Where were you in '77?
Ah, damn! Well it still may be a good reference for editing, at least. As well as a good source for the opening titles

Sadly my projects are lost due to an HDD crash… 😦 | [Fundamental Collection] thread | blog.spoRv.com | fan preservation forum: fanres.com
