This is far from the technical definition, but in practical terms it's basically small amounts of alcohol (comparable to light beer most of the time) crammed into sweet yummy sugary tasting drinks where you can barely taste the alcohol and it just tastes like the drink it's mimicking. Mike's Hard Lemonade, Redd's Apple Ale (don't let Ale confuse you), Johnny Appleseed's Hard Apple Cider etc. MHL is just as sweet as lemonade and you can barely taste the alcohol, Redd's and Johnny Appleseed basically taste like apple cider with a slight hint of alcohol. Basically for teenage girls and people who don't drink much or are new to drinking.
