Are the DTS CD's for the 1998 remake of Psycho avaliable? Italy have just released a BD for the remake (standard Universal catalogue release) but it only includes the English track as Dolby Digital 2.0. Would be awesome if the DTS mix was synced with it as the DTS hasn't been heard outside of the cinema release (no DTS DVD or Laserdisc was released as far as i know)

I know it's not a popular movie at all, but I am interested on the DTS track of Cube 2: Hypercube.

As far as I know, only the Polish DVD included that track, that isn't present anywhere else in the world, and the movie hasn't even been released on bluray.

Well, this may be a tough find.  Cinema DTS isn't like home DTS and I don't know if this film was even shown with that audio configuration.

I will look.

Jetrell, you would add "Chicago" to the list - I've already updated the corresponding DTS list on fanres.

"Searching for" or "found" Chicago?

Done.  I added a few to the list here as well.  I will adjust the fanres list tonight.

I'm looking for the DTS track to Disney's Flubber. I know it is on laserdisc. I even own it. Just don't think I can rip it to my mac.

This thread is for cinema DTS, not home video DTS.  The 2 are different.  There are tutorials in the help section on capturing bit perfect audio.  You might want to try there.

Sure. But is there a DTS theatrical track somewhere? I'm much more interested in that.

I know I don't have it.  I can look.  I guess I didn't realize that you were asking for the cinema DTS.

Tech specs notwithstanding, is LD DTS really different from a theatrical DTS mix?

Theatrical mixes is the main thing.

Would anyone be interested in Mission: Impossible?  I'd love to get that sync'd to the Blu-ray, so long as it was of the same quality as the LaserDisc AC3 track!  I may be able to track down a set of discs.

Agreed.

Is there any reason to believe any DTS LD's were remixed in any way? The exception being films that never were in DTS theatrically...

Mortal Kombat sounds like it should to me, unlike the Blu Ray.

I *think* that, at the time, when studio talk about DTS on laserdisc, to have "the same sound you can hear in theaters", they mean it - *maybe* DTS made, at the time, a "piece of hardware" that can convert Cinema DTS -> Home (LD) DTS (read: APT-X100 -> DTS CA) in an easy way... this is just a conjecture, of course...

Sound field arrangement may differ due to the limitations of home video audio vs. theater audio.  I have done no direct comparisons.  I have seen that some come close, others may be tweaked for home viewing.  I think at times it's a horse a piece.  At least with the cinema dts, you probably have a better chance of having a raw version compared to a tweaked home video version.

A few months ago, I bought a sealed copy of the US LaserDisc of Mission Impossible. Although the mix seems to contain a minor error in at least one scene (slight crackling sound on one of the surround channels if I remember correctly, comparable to the crackling noise one can hear on the first US Blu-ray's PCM track of "Cars"), its AC3 mix is quite "beefy" and fun indeed.

Oddly though, a strange mix-up seem to have taken place at least with my copy since, despite being brand new until I had opened it, they put in twice the same disc with side 1 and 2, thus side 3 is missing. Some very weird manufacturer mistake.

Which is way I grabbed two other copies (PILF-2377) while being in Japan, where they are so cheap (down to 108¥ including VAT), one doesn't know whether to laugh or to cry. It contains the AC3 as well and probably it will be the same audio data as the US one, but only a check in the future will reveal.

Anyway, I'd be willing to rip the audio and provide it to this nice community as well once I'm back, which won't be before mid of July, though.

Are all the sync'd files available somewhere?
