We'll look into it. Sorry about the issues. At some point a torrent will be up on Myspleen which might be easier to get.

It would guess that they're using Yenc Power Post to create the pars (since that's whats being used to post). Old versions (esp. 25b) had a problem with creating corrupt pars. Nothing can fix pars created this way.
“Yes, it speaks of the trinity; casting light at the sun with its wandering eye”
I hope team will get the pars sorted.
If another repack is needed, I hope the team would pack the 1280x and 1920x separately.
We wait meanwhile...

Unfortunately it's corrupt and doesn't have enough par2 files. The one from two days earlier is corrupt too and unfixable too. :(
I downloaded it and i only have 1 file corrupt, "ESB Deconstructed (REPACK).part007.rar"
However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Everything worked great this time. Thanks, gang!

Just a reminder that links to downloads outside small clips to demonstrate quality or content aren't permitted within public topics. It looks like some of these files are full presentations, so I've removed those links. If I've misunderstood the content, feel free to repost.

Those aren't direct download links, just pointers to the usenet file parts.

No, I think Jay's right. That's like saying it's not a direct link because it only points to a .torrent file. Sure you need to install a torrent client to make the link work, but then you're in like Flint. Same here - if you have a newsreader installed, those links are pretty direct. There are now several versions of the files on the usenet and I was trying to point people at the right set. Sorry Jay!

Given that .torrents are considered direct links here, I'd say it's safe to say the same about .nzbs.
"Right now the coffees are doing their final work." (Airi, Masked Rider Den-o episode 1)
I've known some people that have never gotten downloads to work directly from usenet, but that was awhile ago. Programs may have improved since then.

Thanks a lot for separate archives.
I wrote a GOUT-sync script for the 1280x file.
Seems there's a frame missing somewhere between 20th Fox and STAR WARS title card.
Finding its exact location, amid all the blackness and static logo shots, seemed like a fool's errand.
So I punted. Instead the script begins with STAR WARS title card.
There it is.
It includes two merge() commands to handle repeated frames.
In the scene where Luke tastes Yoda's pottage, frames 78089 & 78090 are repeats of 78087 & 78088 respectively.
They seem to be from different sources, so the merge() looks ugly, but hey-- it's only a frame-counting excercise.
When Yoda watches Luke enter the cave, 90676-709 are duplicates of 90642-675 respectively, apparently the same source.
GOUT-sync wasn't your stated goal; I do understand that.
Repeats probably weren't the goal either . . . I'm guessin'.
Thanks a lot for sharing.
I hope the "release early and often" trend will continue.

We are only releasing Grindhouse versions of Empire Strikes Back, because we had them available, and it was not our main focus.
The prints of Return of the Jedi are already in very good shape, so no point in releasing those.
Also, our main focus is Star Wars, so there won't be any early releases of that either.
Their might be some Grindhouse releases after the main version, however, there are samples of Star Wars out to experiment on.

sync script for DCP source
Again missing one frame after 20th FOX logo fade, before STAR WARS title appear,
and again I choose not to decide.

Just watched the grindhouse version, I can honestly say I don't feel like I've really watched ESB properly before this, I loved the grittyness and reel changes, it'd be great to have the trilogy like this. It'd actually be great to have all my favourite movies transferred this way!
Thanks guys, very excited for the future!
Is the pixilation issue in the grindhouse version only appearing at 2hr13sec and then in the credits? or is there more throughout the film?
Thanks for the comments. If you like these versions, you might like Star Wars Super 8mm Grindhouse that is coming out soon:

As far as Empire goes, the Bluray version has the issues fixed that are mentioned.

Fantastic, I never managed to find the Derran print myself so will be great to see how it looks, from what I'm told it's excellent.
Might check out the RAW dumps too though my spleen might explode :)
Out of curiosity, would you guys be open to scanning prints other than SW?
I am looking for the Grindhouse cut and cannot find it anywhere. I have an Easynews account but all that is up are samples. Can anyone help me out and hook me up with a copy of this? Thanks!
nm. I think I found it. Would empire_strikes_back_color_corrected_version01a.mp4 Be the right version?

We are currently only concerned with the Star Wars series currently. However, we would also like to do the Raiders trilogy eventually also.
There are scattered film projects here:

And many more underway at AMPSdeux on reddit.

I'm soooo late to the party, but I managed to get the Grindhouse edition in both 720 and 1080. I'm unable to play the feature film files on anything but VLC. Neither my bluray player or my WD can play the files. The thing looks fantastic on my monitor, but I'm trying everything I can to get this on my television, but to no avail. The Seasons Greetings and Previews files work, but the main feature is a no go. Does anyone have any suggestions as to get this going?
By the way, I'm over the moon for those previews. Great work!
You'll need the 'ESB Bluray compatible ISO' - the original release had unsupported resolution/colourspace (I forget which).
Even if you don't burn to a disc you'll be able to extract the streams and remux.
Yep, it was encoded with 4:2:2 instead of 4:2:0
