Star Wars #3

Sigh. One step forward, another step back. The mini-series are far surpassing the main title. Here we have another cover to cover non-stop over the top misadventure.

John Cassady's art has steadily improved with each issue, the same unfortunately cannot be said for the writing. Jason Aaron just does not have a solid grasp on the voices of any of the characters. The dialog comes off as stilted with a lot of odd word choices.

Han especially suffers from this. For example, Han apparently thinks of Threepio as being some kind of bag as twice now he's either referred to him as a "sack of springs" or just a plain old "rust sack." He also strangely accused Threepio of slacking off by taking an oil bath when the Falcon isn't equipped for that.

Hopefully after this storyline has concluded they'll slow down the pace and get a better grasp on the characters.
