Because, you know, we can't have a giant commercial for the movie just floating around the net for free, you know. They need to charge $40 per person for that commercial.

What's funny is that nothing has been done regarding SW.com. In fact, the whole site is now down. I've got it saved if anyone wants it.

That's just to be expected, glad I didn't have to stay up for Access Hollywood to catch it though!

Hmm, regardless of the end quality of the movie itself, I gotta admit I do like the trailer:
1) Nice touch using ol' Alec from ep 4 as narration. Talk about coming full circle. You have admit, nothing is as powerful as nostaligia from the '70s (except maybe... the force).
2)Liked that shot of Vader "frankenstein' style. The way his hands and arms were propped up next him, in an ackward unfinished fashion. Nice touch.
3)Voice was a little weak, "Yes... Master" wasn't quite as strong, but can't expect him to be full on ass-kickin' Vader right off the bat.
4)Yoda still looks bad (No more sonic the hedgehog... please).
5)Lookin' forward to the ol' Kenobi-Anakin showdown!

But as good as this teaser was, it still wasn't as good as the Brick Wars trailer for Episode 3. Anyone agree? It was kinda close to the final thing...
The original Star Wars trilogy: Our cultural history deserves to be preserved and should be available to the public like all great works of art!

They actually used prequel music in the trailer! That's actually a first, ain't it?

Anyway, regarding the music, the end sounded ridiculous, that quick cut from the Imperial March was just awkward.

Watching it without audio, It seemed fine.

Observations


TheForce.net preview said that there was a ship spraing acid on another ship, but it was obviously a ship on fire and something being used to put it out. What the crap is with that?

Two: It seams that Mace Will be killed by Palpatine--there is a red saber-flash right before mace spins around.

Three: Wow. The Battle of Coruscant (18BBY) is going to be freakin' awesome!

I would have to agree with Faid. Zach-braff.com (yes, the actor's own site) is primarily a blog that also hosts photographs and whatnot. I doubt there's ever been a need for excessive bandwidth on the site. When it's easily found as one of the sites hosting the long-awaited teaser trailer to the final SW movie ever (hopefully), the demand suddenly increases exponentially. I'm sure you'll see Zach fix things up with his provider right quick as he's a big user of his own site and loves it dearly and will also probably remove the trailer so it doesn't happen again. LFL does not have the legal right to shut down sites. They can threaten legal action, but they cannot go in and shut things down. I'm ready to guarantee it exceeded bandwidth.

Luckily, I got the trailer from the site before it went down.

Did anyone notice that Palps seemed to have on a jedi like hood which is leading me to believe that the "evil eyes Anakin" is actually Palps in some way disguise himself a Anakin to perhaps get close to Yoda. I could be way off but some how it just does not make sense that Anakins eye would change that way and more sense that Palps is powerful enough to change his appearance.

My theory about the shot of Yoda with his saber is that he got his ass kicked beforehand. The look in his face suggests he's tired...

And he's going back for one last stand.

First off I just wanted say Hi to everyone. First time poster long time reader. I dont even remember the number I was when I first signed the petition. Any way I saw the trailer early on. I all I can say is the May 19th can't come fast enough. It will probably be like March/ April before the next trailer. But anyway everyone seems to think the Old guy with the lightsaber is Palpatine. In my opinion I don't think it is. Looking at his teeth they pretty bad. Naboo or Coruscant have to have good dentist. These guy in the trailer looks like Papatines redneck cousin that is missing some teeth. I believe that guy could be Jedi Master Syfo Dius (or however you spell it). However, Syfo Dius could have always been in with Sidious or he turned to the darkside like Dooku. It would also be inconsistent with the time line as well. This guy really looks bad. And not much time has passed between ATOC and ROTS. Palpatine would have really had to age quickly. Yes I know the darkside does that too but not that fast. Just remember the redo in Empire with the emperors new face. But time will tell.

Perhaps Palpatine transforms like Anakin does with the whole yellow eyes thing, only he turns old and disgusting-looking. Just a thought.

It's good to hear that someone else is unhappy with this new Insider. Vic and Lisa did an awesome job with the mag, and their love of Star Wars showed through on every page. Now, I barely care to flip through it for anything more than the pictures.

That, combined with the fact that were were basically lied to regarding this "HS members get to see the trailer first" business, will probably keep me from renewing next time around.

Regarding the trailer, if anyone still has the cajones to pull out the "well, technically we WILL get it first" argument needs to wake up. If anything, we'll get it mere MINUTES earlier than AOL gets it.

That's exactly what it is.

So Dooku was totally MIA, as well as Grevous. I can understand wanting to keep Grevous under wraps until the final trailers, but what about the Count?? There's just going to be too much in this movie for it to be really good. It'll probably end up being alright. Let's see, the to do list for this movie: everything. ...kay.

Just a note about Yoda which no one seems to have noticed. I'm almost positive that the shots of him are animation from AotC, NOT new stuff. It looks like it's been either recomposited with a RotS background, or, less likely, re-rendered entirely using the exisitng animation. My guess would be that what we are seeing is Lucas wanting to get some dynamic Yoda action into the teaser, without giving anything important away, and dealing with the fact that all of his good performance animation is most likely not finished (which, for a little animation lesson for some of you means no cloth or hair simulation yet...that will be done once they lock in the performance ). If you recall, Yoda's acting shots were one of the last things that ILM was able to nail to Lucas' liking on AotC. Anyways, just my 2 cents...

And, oh yeah, man is that EVER JEJ as Vader. I was actually leaning away from it being him, especially since there was just a little interview posted with him about not having recorded anything for the film yet....but listen to it through headphones, and that's aboslutely him.

Well... for some reason, the trailer didn't do so good for me. I now belive episode 3 won't be so good.

And if you look at the geyser on the left, it looks like the dude from the banking clan wearing The Flash's mask. Hmmmm... The Flash, sounds kinda like Flash Gordon. SW was supposed to be a tribute to Flash Gordon ... OH NO!!! BARRY ALLEN IS ACTUALLY DARTH VADER!!!!
