I think this cut is too much. The core of this scene is the dwarf losing their faith and Bilbo restoring it. Your cut omitted the climax of that scene, which resulted in an odd viewing experience. 

I like your other cuts, though. Especially the way you resolved the Smaug scene. I think it's the best one I've seen so far.
