The budget wasn't big enough to support Walter Koenig, so Chekov was chucked and his role assumed by Arex.

I for one don't mind his absence, seeing as it led to the creation of one of Star Trek's few truly alien aliens.

Transferred? Retired? Drummed out? Honorably discharged? Promoted?

I think a better question is how does the same crew constantly stay together for 30+ years.

Hey, just how many time have they saved all of life as we know it again?

The federation would be stupid to break up this team.  I don't think they have a death wish so they know better then to move any of them.

Koenig did contribute the script for The Infinite Vulcan, which is another good example of concepts that would have been too expensive to do in live action.

And giant clone Spock is still out there somewhere!

Interesting how on SNL's budget, the Jeopardy game board is just like that of the original show pre Trebek era. The Jeopardy 1999 skit from the 70's ought to be included for the heck of it.

I wish Frink could somehow use Jeopardy Sean Connery in his next edit.

Back to the titular topic of this thread (which is rather an oxymoron, I suppose):

Here's a riddle that I suspect Lewis Carroll would like.

"Why is an astronaut like a Ring of Power?"

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

I've recently discovered the joys of smoking tobacco with a pipe.  I've never liked cigarettes, they are nasty and horrible for you.  Pipe tobacco, which is of course still bad for you in some ways, is far less harmful and actually has benefits to your mind.  Also it's far far less addictive than cigarettes, ( due to the chemicals they add to cigarettes specifically for that purpose).  Also it tastes natural instead of all chemically and it's actually a good taste.  And there's also the big bonus that it smells good and doesn't leave you smelling bad.  Plus there's the added social benefit of being able to say "Indeed."

Tell that to the teenage me who had to sit to the immediate right of my pipe-smoking Physics teacher every tuesday :-(

Exactly the reason why I've always planned on taking this up in my declining years.

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

I think perhaps the best way of understanding the Trinity is by reading The Lorax.

Perhaps it was just the particular blend this professor enjoyed... there are many blends that offer a pleasant aroma.  I'm quite partial to cherry flavored tobacco myself, and I often am told I smell like cherries, but I've never been told I smell like smoke.

Also, perhaps.  That's another good smoking word.

Sorry, I think I put an extraneous "the" in there.

Too much brown to be DanFun. Could be one of his relatives, though.
