The Audio Preservation Thread — Page 14

Hi Doombot,

I'm crazy to get LD track of Fright Night synced to the Blu-ray, specially to the new Sony BD that was released internationally, as it has better PQ.

http://caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleiche/multi_comparison.php?disc1=4751&disc2=472&hd_multiID=1097#auswahl

IActually I have sourced this LD to DJ, so he could sync the audio to the BD, but with all Teamblu's projects, he haven't had the time to do it yet (it's been over an year).

I guess if anyone else can do this sync job, I could get the raw files.

Hey BDgeek,

Feel free to send me the Fright Night LD for syncing.

At risk of sounding naive, where might one procure the soundtracks listed in this thread? Would I have to PM each author or is there another option?

PM  PDB  although he's extremely busy.

Which ones are you looking for?

Star Trek 1 & 2, as well as the SLV of Star Trek 1 if anyone has captured that.

It will be great to have a "repository" somewhere...

Sadly my projects are lost due to an HDD crash… 😦 | [Fundamental Collection] thread | blog.spoRv.com | fan preservation forum: fanres.com

You know that's been kicked around a bit. It does warrant a discussion.

Personally, I have been slowly moving the tracks, I have, to my Mega account for redundancy and to make it easier to share. Basically I pop a track on there when someone requests it, slowly building the account.

Doombot is right, I been busy the last month but he was nice enough to sync a copy of Blue Thunder which I just added to the list:

Movie: Blue Thunder

Format: Laserdisc 79336

Input Soundtrack: PCM 2.0 Dolby Stereo Surround 44.1 khz, 16-bit, bit perfect

Output Soundtrack: PCM 2.0 Dolby Stereo Surround 48 khz, 16-bit

Synced To: 2009 Blu-ray Release Region A

Ripped/Synced by: Dark Jedi/Doombot

Notes: Contains the original Dolby Stereo soundtrack.

Just a correction, I provided the stems to Doombot, but the rip was made by DJ.

This is a great thread! Glad to see so much love for original soundtracks. I couldn't find it listed, but has anyone synched the Rankin/Bass hobbit DVD with the original soundtrack? All DVD and VHS versions since 2001 have an incorrect mix that is missing dozens of sound effects, bits of dialogue and is full of mixing errors. I suspect it was an early temp mix which was mistakenly used for the DVD master. Despite fans complaining for years, WB has never fixed the error. I have the original soundtrack on a HiFi VHS copy, but was curious if anyone has it in digital form?

Is there some voodoo secret to syncing audio I am missing?

You may want to ask Jetrell Fo in his DTS thread. He is the man in the know about the theatrical DTS CDs.

Does anyone have the Criterion Collection Three Colors White BD with fixed audio?

The original pressing (which I own) has an audio fault and Criterion reissued a fixed disc. Unfortunately Im not having much luck getting it.

Was wondering if someone can help a fellow forum member in need :) Please PM me. Thanks.

Does anyone happen to have the Laserdisc(s) of Once Upon a Time in America?

It would be nice to see if the track on this disc could be synced to the recent (theatrical) BD.

However, from my understanding, the American Laserdisc is cut by 2mins, but I believe it is the best source available for an English mono track (or am I wrong?).

Hi Neon. It's still a work in progress - I've found it particularly difficult for some reason, perhaps due to its hazy and ambient sound (reference points being harder to find as a consequence).

I'm also in the middle of a house move so I may not have a chance to get back to it for a few weeks, but I'll post an update when there's news!

I tried to find an answer on why the original theatrical stereo mixes were not included in the star trek movie blu rays could not find one.

Cannot say if the mixes on the blu ray are new ones or simply reused multi channel theatrical/ 70mm if it was before 5.1 digital sound.
