JM and Windexed, I agree that I much prefer Amazon Marketplace. I buy from them all the time. I like that it's all protected by Amazon and they can suspend payment if the shipment doesn't arrive and whatnot. It's a beautiful thing. The only thing that makes it lack is that the only stuff you can sell in the marketplace is stuff that Amazon sells in its e-retail center. No rarities or special or discontinued items. So, for that stuff, you have to go hunting in eBay or elsewhere.

I haven't purchased anything from eBay since about 1998-99 when I was going on an Atari binge. I bought a used 2600 system and a bunch of games. I was hooked on eBay and uBid (I think that's what it was called). But everything was money order. Maybe if there is something I just can't live without, I will start to look on eBay.

I've often wondered why it's called eBay in the first place. For a site that's designed for online auctions, I would,ve called it uBid.com instead. From a marketing standpoint, that would make more sense.

uBid was actually the first online auction site as I recall. Then it was either eBay or the Amazon auction site (which has since closed down as well in favor of straight p2p resales via the Amazon Marketplace).

Not yet, but if you're interested, BestBuy.ca has a 6.1 computer speaker system on for $65 Cdn. It's the grand opening of the website. I'll probably send Prozzak out this weekend.
