On contrary, killing him in ROTJ made no sense. Especially when half of the film was invested/wasted on his rescue.
I agree. I think Ford wants to be done with it, and Han is not a die in his sleep kind of guy. As Mithrandir said earlier though, execution is everything. If his sacrifice is portrayed in an effective and meaningful way, I'll be satisfied.
The scenario of Darth Plagueis being behind the scenes as a disembodied manipulative spirit is a pretty good one. It makes sense, given that he basically set the whole movie timeline in motion.
Still not thrilled about the dueling super weapons idea, but we'll see how it plays out.
