If you downloaded the original 4:2:2 version, that is why it won't play on your Smart TV.

 That's more a what than a why.

I was afraid of that. Hopefully they release the corrected version in 4:2:0. Pretty please, Team -1.

You will have to get the Bluray compatible ISO and demux that and the audio.

It's up on Myspleen as : Renegade Grindhouse ESB Bluray compatible ISO

No wonder I didn't find it when searching for empire. Thanks! I know what I'll be watching on weekend.

I just started downloading the 2013 DCP and I want to ask just how accurate is that version? Will any of it be used for your definitive restoration?

Some of the DCP versions colors might be useful for a reference, but we have an entirely separate print that is much better shape that will be used for the restoration.

2013 DCP? At the risk of sounding like an idiotic ignoramus, is that different from the public 2014 grindhouse edit?

What resolution is the DCP? 2K? more?

 It's 1080p.

I think it's just called DCP because it's an encoding (wmv, strangely) of a DCP they once used for a screening.

I see - thanks for the info! Wish I could access this somehow.

Actually the DCP uses a couple of reels that are the same in the Grindhouse Edit, mainly the 5th and 6th reels.

However the color correction was done differently.

I've finally downloaded both and am getting ready to enjoy them as they are.  Thanks to team_negative1 for the gifts.

Well I don't know about that, you might want to install FFDShow and tone down the pink a little =)

OK, finished watching the 2013 DCP and I must say it more or less matches the colour adjusted Grindhouse Edition, with more robust blues, because even with the colour adjustments anything that is supposed to be blue still has a hint of green. Was the blue in Hoth originally there or was it colour adjustments on your behalf?

I assume the DCP is for private eyes only, am I right?  This is the first I recall hearing of it.  I take no issue with that, but if it is in fact available and I missed the memo, I wouldn't mind taking a peek.

It is at the place that rhymes with "Sheen".

There will be two more releases. The rough non color corrected RAW version from the first print, and a color corrected version of that together.

- The RAW pinkish version will be a higher bitrate 1080p one. (Possibly 4/8 Gigs)

- The color corrected version will be a low bitrate 720p one. (About 2 gigs)

This was our first internal preview. We are still putting it together, and it will serve to complete the archive of the various versions we had, and were looking at. This will have more artifacts, and some blurred and shaky shots, but you will see the differences from our current ones.

No estimated date on release yet.

8 gigs for raw uncorrected footage?  I hope that's a typo...

They said it was an internal preview, so that might explain it.

...you know, that might have something to do with that.  I just went straight to the numbers and didn't read too closely.  Shutting up now.

Today I have been able to finish watching ESB. I was really thrilled when hearing things like "Bring my shuttle" and Clive Revill's and Jason Wingreen's voice.

Even though many colors are off, some do feel right to me, even without correction.

Overall, it has been a great experience watching the original ESB from 35mm copies in HD and without any restoration.

I really want to thank all current and former members of Team_Negative1 big time for making this possible. I've had every confidence that you could pull it off and my confidence has been justified. I can't wait to see the original Star Wars and RotJ from 35mm copies in HD. :)
