I need to do some severe cropping for my edit. I'm working with SD footage, but I have the Blu-ray, so I have the opportunity to use HD footage just for the cropping. Cropping the SD footage so close causes pretty bad picture quality degradation. For some reason I seem to remember that HD footage doesn't lose quality when cropped, is this true?
