Hey everyone.  I'm a little late to the party, but I'd really appreciate the link, too.  Thanks in advance.

 PM sent.

Would it be possible to get the link as well? I recently watched the BR of the DC, and found it so uneven.

What's the status of the version 2?

Status of V2.0 = Unknown, there hasn't been an update in awhile.

I've been exchanging PMs with a member who is trying to track down the original laserdisc for me and to extract the PCM mix, which I will then sync to the video.

For now, the project lies dormant, awaiting that mix.  I made numerous tiny edits to make the Blu-ray version practically frame-accurate to the DVD version, but I want to give my source as long as possible to transfer the laserdisc track before replacing version 1.  I'm working on another project right now, and once that is done, I will get back to this and call it done, with or without that laserdisc mix.

As version 2 sits now, the only substantial correction is a single line which was in the director's cut (carried into version 1), which is not found in the theatrical cut.  When we see for the first time that Lorl is working for Salieri, the scene begins with the line "they're out every night, sir."  That line is absent in the original version (and version 2).

One member requested that version 2 be able to fit on a BD-R.  That will be done.  It should clock in at just below 25GB, and will include the DVD 5.1 mix, the isolated score mix, and the laserdisc mix if available.  I will not include the director's cut 5.1 mix, but make it available as a separate file that the viewer can remux on their own.

Thanks for your patience, everyone.

Only 23gb's fit on a BD25, actually.

DVD5 = 4.37 gb

DVD9 = 7.95 gb

BD25 = 23 gb

BD50 = 46 gb

 Have you done anything to make the DVD shots blend better with the BD's, or is that unfeasible?

I've adjusted the color timing to match as close to the BD as possible.  The DVD was very red in places.  You can see what I've done in version 1, though I have tweaked it somewhat since then.

 I'll make sure it's small enough.

Hi, can some kind person please PM me the details about getting hold of version 1?

Well done to the OP for all your hard work on this.

I want my young daughter to be able to grow up with Amadeus just as I did (i.e. a non R-rated version).

Also, the isolated music track edition was fantastic (I used to have it on in the background when revising at school and other similar activities). I assume that was not included in the Director's Cut for the same reason the Theatrical Cut didn't make it to Blu Ray.

How do I find the Theatrical Cut Restoration here? I own the director's cut, but would love the original...

Thanks, stretch, for continually sending everyone a PM. It saves me from having to do it.

 No problem, and thank you for picking up the slack when I'm unable to do it in a timely fashion.

My wife bought me the BD for Christmas, but I'd love to see the Theatrical Cut. A link to version 1 would be great! Thanks for all the hard work, jimbotron235!

This is such a treasure! I would love to see this!

Anyone who can point me in the right direction I'd be very appreciative.

I'd also like to express thanks to Jim for all the work, a labor of love that I am so happy about, and to Stretch for helping out on the PM's.

**standing ovation**

Hi everyone !

I just came across this thread, I thought I'd never see a HD version of the theatrical cut. Thank you for this wonderful job !

French dub of this cut is amazing, a complete new dub was done for the DC and it's really awful.

I could send the original dub for those who are interested.

Where can I get a link for you 1080p restoration ?

Thanks !

This will just be too awesome. Our family's watched the movie tens of times, but that stopped now that our only copy is the Director's Cut on Bluray. Really, our disgust for "extended" versions of movies for home releases started with this movie (and less so The Lion King). It would be something tremendous if we could finally revisit the original in HD. Thank you so much.
