I actually like that concept too, though instead, the main change I would've emphasized for that particular shot is edit the AT-AT to be much closer to the speeder than how it originally is. Always kinda bugged me when at that moment it appeared Luke had a lot of time to escape, no sweat, then seconds later the feet are right at the speeder. One can say there was an elapse in time right then, but I don't buy that in this case - since AT-ATs are slow walkers, that would've meant Luke was digging around in the backseat for around half a minute - that should not be what happens.
