Yes, it is entirely possible, you scan the print, then split the scan into the left and right views.

You then go through and colour match the left and right streams, and do any cleanup required.

Then it is a matter of stabilising and packing the footage into the 3D format of choice. This will give you something that has the same 3D effect as the cinematic release, except with better colour consistency.

You can then go through and find the areas where the 3D didn't work so well, and start adjusting those to give a better experience.

 Oh good! It's an enjoyable Star Wars clone if you've never seen it.

Downright scary all the cool things that have been popping up lately. ;)
