I really love the original colours of the BB TDK prologue. The iTunes trailer looks similar.

One thing that is odd is the TDKR colour timing is closer to the original BB TDK prologue...

I agree, the BB TDK prologue is more pleasing to my eyes and does seem to match TDKR.

The colour detail differences in the make up on Joker's face in the screen shots look great, with the blu seeming to crush them to one consistant colour.

Is this a case of the promotional material not having the final grade done on it or a botched Blu Ray release. Im still on the fence but leaning towards the BB prologue due to

The Dark Knight's colors on BD is suppose to different from its theatrical run, quoting:

"On The Dark Knight Blu-ray transfer, the biggest error – by far the biggest error – its producers committed was the complete change of the film's original color timing. The Dark Knight was not copied with an optical printer. The original material – I held it in my hands – it was gorgeous. It was absolutely gorgeous. It was… I fell flat off my chair. (Laughs) The colors are so different compared to those that appear in the Blu-ray transfer. I've seen the Blu-ray once, and I've never looked at it again. "

Lets keep digging.

Im going to remap the Imax scenes to 2:35:1 first, using the HDTV as refrence and then will get into colour grading.

Out of interest, any colour grades out there who can tell me how to best match the colours of the BB TDK Prologue? Im thinking a blanket Correction at the moment.

Does anybody know anything about removing/softening Edge Enhancement? I understand the detail has been lost but would be nice to tone down its apearance. Ive posted in the Technical Forum about a AVIsynth filter http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Edge-Enhancement-Removal/topic/17404/ Im not the best at AVIsynth scripts so any help would be great.

Thanks for everybodys contrbutions to the project and thread.
