The AVCHD files I had on my Mac ended ".AVCHD". I just changed the ending to ".mts" and the file changed to a folder containing BDMV stream. I burned this in Toast (old version with no HD plugin) as a DVD-ROM. It played in my blu Ray player perfectly. Not sure if that helps, but good luck.
