So Now That I have been at this a couple weeks I can see that I have my work cut out for me. It's such a big project I find myself jumping around back and forth between the two movies. But I have come up with some good ideas and found some of the problems that still require some stratagy.
In ROTJ I have mainly focused on the Jabba scenes, I think it's gonna come out pretty rockin tits. Here is a badly punctuated Breakdown of where I am going so far.
New Crawl Explaining Deathstar II Yodas declining health and that the fleet is about to move on the deathstar because they got stolen plans and Leia cannot wait for luke to rendezveux and go in without him.
I would like to have the original opening scene with the star destroyer but cut with the emperors tie parade and landing so that big papa palpy arrives on the death star at the beginning It makes the empire seem a step ahead. and gets the conversation out that he has been in charge of the death star II construction the whole time (perhaps as punishment for not retreiving the plans or shooting down luke, or catching luke) Then he says now I sense you want to continue your search for young skywalker thus setting up Darth tele harassing luke. And I think that since Palpy and Darth's story will be covered in Return of the Sith, Seeing them togeather at the beginning makes sense. Cut to Tatooine.
By Removing the Droids From Going in First..(or at all) I Need to Introduce Jabba a bit So I am using scenes from SE and DeSpec to introduce jabba Starting With the rebo band and Oola Dancing. Interlaced with jabbas dialouge from the boshh scene. it looks like theyre finished, Jabbas Chillin, Oola has a Seat, Jabba gets word from Bib that they found the spy is a dancing girl, He looks at her and says lets see you dance one more time pretty ho ho ho Se cut to her looking confused then she dances jabba says something about knowing shes a spy, she says im not a tratior or something Bam Rancor trap with some of the SE rancor pit footage in there.
Then Boshh Comes in. With an introduction From Bib So as they did not blast their way in. Jabba Then I use the Jabba Scenes Mixed with the Boshh Scenes to Make it a conversation like Jabba So the mighty chewbacca,......Something from Boshh..........Jabba says not wise to have an unrestraind wooky why don't he just pull your arms off? She says that he thinks his friends will come and save him. Then Bosh pulls out her little Flashy ball and says and if I die we all die....or something clever..Jabba Laughs Likes it Says well you won't be needing that here, besides he would hate to not live to see chewbacca frozen and hung by his Friend, Solo -- Cut to Pan to solo from droids intro, just need to matt out Oola, or just use a hard cut to han in carbonite, there are several. Chewie gets taken away. No threepeo - No Boba. Cut to Dagobah.
Luke He has been on Dagobah finishing his training, just completed his lightsaber when he is visited telepathically by vader Prompting him to have an unexpededly fatal conversation with Yoda. (I think yoda just up and dying the way he does is silly like luke doesn't know at all and within two minutes of yoda mentioning it hes dead. It needs to appear that luke knew so I will make an attempt to make it like he does know. He will say there is another skywalker and all that bizz. Cause he could have logically held back info because he didn't know that luke knew that vader was whatever. Because holding important info like that for your last breath is kinda stupid. but wuteva. No ben scene...yet Now back to tatooine
Leia saves han, I'll have to crop or matt threepeeo out. I need some indy lines or other harrison ford lines for when they're dragging him off, like keep your hand's off her or you're making a mistake again, or something. Jabba says Aren't you a spicy taco or something and licks his lips Hard cut to Luke on Dagoba. Probly shot from ben where he says Leia, then shot of him standing outside his xwing then takeoff towards tatooine
You must unlearn what you have learned.
Keep in mind that no one at Jabbas knows anything about Luke Skywalker. So now is where it gets tricky I want luke to come in pissed. No real plan but asskicking. Chokes the guards and comes through, Bib stops him, hopefully somehow takes his weapon. Maybe subtitle bib to say you must check you weapon with the guard at the door and somehow get it to lando. I was thinking lando is the one who kicks that guard down at the door, then crop to him looking at luke talking and pulling down his mask. Anyway by using scenes from the droids intrance I can make Bib not look like a Boob and use lukes hologram intro to into himself bib can say he is not a jedi jabba says for luke to shutup and tell him he is not welcome here, and luke mindtricks bib then, to show he is a jedi, lukes second trick fails, so with leia and lando right there Luke flips straight for asskick mode and grabs a gun boom rancor pit. Then everyones togeather.
Bring me Solo and the Wookie.....I will cut the Han Chewie Reunite so I will prob have Han say Chewie and Chewie Gronk when theyre bringing them out. Cut the threepeeo stuff Jaba explains it, they all speak huttineese.
Cut down Sailbarge scene of Boba Fett and droids Luke gets his Saber from Lando and instantly goes to asskick mode. it happes fast so that you don't get the impression that 30 rough gangster type guys can't shoot a stationary barge or the 4 people on it from 100 ft away all unarmed cept one who can only block shots. Don't have this scene nailed down yet but i'm getting there.
I think that's enough for now but note I plan on heavy subtitle changes and everyone speaking a different language will be subed. Cep't maybe Chewie for continuity.
