Back on tpoic the poster sucks but then in that respect it's representative of the film itself I'm sure.
The fake teaser poster a while back, whilst not being professional or polished was a far sight more in keeping with the supposed throughline of the film and the series. Whereas this poster is just amaturish and 'try-hard-y'.
We all know what it's going for but it just doesn't quite achieve the desired effect. It's like a thumbnail variation on a concept that was taken to proposal level where it should have been given extensive notes and sent back to the drawing board.
The idea is good and the fake teaser poster had the same idea done better.
The composition is poor and the execution of the 'hidden' image is just bad, it looks like a rush job.
It's interesting to note that fans can do better posters than LFL and better DVD transfers al beit from inferior sources, better stories with the novels and comics and tighter editing of the films themselves with fanedits.
Next up a totally fan produced version of the Prequel Trilogy to match the Original Trilogy films in acting effects and sprit and replace the LFL versions of the PT altogether.
