Finally got to watch a little tonight, and I love the sound. The mix is, I assume, the standard stereo 35mm mix, and I haven't heard it sound this warm and nice since the 80s Betamax. Nice work!

The new BD disc has been tested, and encoded at a higher bitrate, and fills more of the disc. We are finalizing a few more details and it should be ready soon.

EDIT:
+++ please ignore this post +++I tried, sorry.
You just made my day :D
Watched it, LOVED it, gonna watch it again.
What I noticed most was the warm audio and ALL the detail. I look forward to the day that you guys release all 3 of these, finished.
Thanks for all the sincere care and work you all are putting in to these. It IS appreciated.
:)
We hope to upload a few Raw sample shots from this version for people to experiment with to see if you want to try your own color correction on them.
Much like the previously posted examples from the partial Fuji/Eastman version, we hope to release the full alternate color corrected version also, and later the full Raw Eastman version.
Details on AMPSdeux.

We have placed 3-5 minute Raw clips from various sections of ESB online.
Check AMPSdeux for details and links.

Just wondering if anyone has actually tried burning the Grindhouse to a BD? File seems to be just just slightly over 25GB. Keep getting a message that the file is too large for the disc.

You should probably read the last few pages. They're working on it.

How about usenet? Thanks! Can't wait to see it! Is it color corrected differently than the last encode?

+ 1 to usenet.
You guys do realise that any of you can dl it from the spleen and then upload to usenet, right?

Haha. I did too! (On December 4th) Thanks for releasing a BD-friendly upload Team!
What can you get a Wookiee for (Life Day) Christmas when he already owns a comb?
Haha I beat you, I said it on December the 2nd ;-) in a round about way.

Thanks so much for going to the trouble of preparing this iso and replacing the end scenes which were corrupted in the orginal encode. Going to watch this tonight on a 110" screen :)
For anyone that wants to remux the pcm track, make sure to check the "Fix Bitstream timing information" under the format specific options for the video track in mkvmerge. I was getting sync issues until I figured that out.
If I had some gum, I’d chew a hole into the sun…
I'm having some trouble playing the .iso file in VLC. Either it won't open or VLC crashes entirely. Any tips? I would like to be able to preview it before I burn it.

From what I remember, VLC doesn't do blu ray menus. That might be different for homebrew menus but I'm not sure.
I've used totalmedia theater and powerdvd for blu rays with menus. ideer works by bypassing the menus.
For what it's worth, I can't get either TMT or PowerDVD to play the iso. Also, VLC doesn't like the 32bit-float pcm either. It plays fine in MPC, though.
I haven't said thanks for this yet, so Thanks Team -1. This is an amazing and much appreciated release. I can't wait for the final results.

We are anticipating a second grindhouse release shortly. This will be a different color corrected version, using some Eastman reels and another less faded print. It will be in 1080p.

Ah, will it also be BD compatible, or an MKV, or both?
Looks to be a WMV file at only 7.41gb, never liked WMV.
