My mistake, they seem to be some form of the despecialized editions, however hard to say which versions (1.0? 2.0? 2.5?), also I don't recommend xvid reencodes unless you need to play them on old hardware that doesn't support h264.

How you can tell is by watching the /end/ end credits.

After the official end credits fade to black and the music ends, wait a few seconds and the Despecialized credits will appear:

If it's v1.0, it will not have a version number (but it /will/ say "HARMY" and a roman numeral). If it's 2.0 or above, it will have a version number as seen above.

Both the versions I have (the ones with the decidedly small file size) have the v2.5 in them. They could have better quality, though, since these don't seem to be the OG Harmy releases, so I've been getting the 80-something part series of .rars on tehparadox for a few hours now. Hopefully that will give me the best quality I can get with this

If you end up with an almost 20GB .mkv file, then it will definitely be the best quality you can get.

If you end up with 8484552704 byte .iso file, with CRC32: B112B79B then Bob's your uncle

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

I spent about 18 months working with MultiAVCHD (off and on) and FINALLY got it to put out a usable Blu-Ray of all 3!  A buddy of mine did some killer custom menu screens and we picked 12 good chapter points with motion thumbnails. (I find 50 unwieldy).  It plays movie music at the welcome and menu screens I did not find too cliche.  Anyway, I'd be happy to share the ISOs that I built packaged along with the killer Kopie box and disk art and case inserts of the poster and menu screen I used on the disk.

If there are not many takers I would be happy to do a private file transfer but if more than a few folks want it, please give me a suggestion of where to host the files.

Sounds great! Sent you a PM :)

Wow!  How did you make those?!

How did you make the nice big box?

That is some great work.

Can you upload the cover scans anywhere so others can download them?

That's just beautiful! Looks like I need to invest in a blu-ray burner.

I love the box spheretronic, how did you make it?

I should have posted images as well when I posted earlier this week, it might have helped...  My buddy, Buried Egg (youtube channel(facebook link), is a huge Star Wars fan and did pro looking custom menu screens.  In fact he is such a fan that he did a really cool side-by-side of him opening the Falcon as a kid and then the 3' one as an adult!  Anyway, here are his awesome custom menus he made.

My contribution was spending the time and money to put the package together and taking first crack at putting some thoughtful chapter set-points in.  In the end we wound up with some nice looking media that caters to how the two of us would watch the movie and allows us to jump right in at a few key story points rather than the 50+ set-points on the official disks.  It took us about 18 months (working in spurts) to put the whole thing together but I think it was worth it.

If you would like a copy of the package, please PM me and I can stand up my FTP server (much of it is available here for now.)  This one is worth buying the Blu-Ray burner or having a friend with one.  Looks great in my collection!

Thanks but that links seems to just take me to a page that I think is asking for money in German.

Wow, that does look amazing.  I like having lots of chapter breaks on my movies and CD so I can quickly get to where I last left off but that is just me.  That package looks so much better then most major studio releases these days.

Forgive me for not knowing what you are talking about but I have only done very basic Bluray burning, what do you mean by 'stand up my FTP" ?  I would love to have a those cases to go with my own Blurays but I have no idea what that means or if I can even do it on my super slow internet connection.

Hi,

I'd like to have all of Harmy's despecialized editions on DVDs with menus and chapter markers. Can someone tell me if there are links to download DVD files of the movies and any instructions on how to create them? Thanks!

All I meant by stand up my FTP server is that i could use that to pass the files. Most of my stuff is up on my Google Drive link i posted at the end of my post but feel free to hit me with a PM if you would like the ANH ".iso" or if the link is not working for some reason.

I should not have posted the Google Drive link but if you want the case art, there is a link at the beginning of the forum.  The page is in German is it appears to ask for an account and perhaps money but the content appears to be there.  You could also send me a PM and I could send you a copy of what I have.

So, just wanted to throw this out there -

My step-dad really hates letterbox releases. As a gift to him, I am taking the Despecialized Trilogy and going through, shot by shot, to create a 16:9 Pan and Scan version. Would anyone here be interested in a release of that? (pending Harmy's approval, of course)

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

Have you considered using a non-linear scaling algorithm (e.g., "wide zoom") instead?

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Sure, I don't have a problem with that - although, once you zoom it in you pretty much get to the resolution of DVD, (the resolution without the black bars is 1280:540) so I'm not sure there's much of a point to even make it an HD file.

Okay, thanks a bunch.  Sorry I got confused.

Is the same thing applicable for Empire? Would there be a version number on top of that one's credits, too?

I have the original versions of all 3 and have been trying to aquire the new 2.5 and 2.0 versions but have been unable to find them.  I signed up for an account on myspleen.org but have not been able to login, do I just need to wait or can someone help me out?

Well, since you didn't read the first post, I'd just wait if I were you.

Actually I did read it and as I stated I signed up for an account with myspleen and my account is not letting me login, so I am not able to request an account with myspleen torrent.  tehparadox is taking for ever to download.
