Why would you choose to watch TDKR if you haven't seen the first two?

My little brother (14 at the time) was visiting the week it came out and wanted to see it, so I took him. Lots of people say The Dark Knight is a great film, but I'm not keen on ever seeing it, considering those same people rave about one of the worst things I've ever seen on screen.

I thought it was great.

Have you walked out on any of the Star Wars prequels though?

Nope. But that was because of my built up love for Star Wars. Even though I thought The Phantom Menace sucked the first time I saw it, there was a lot of rationalizing, followed by multiple viewings in the hopes that it would get better. Attack of the Clones left me traumatized and despondent. Revenge of the Sith I saw just to see it through. Only saw each of those travesties once.

My biggest memory of Revenge of the Sith was the credits at the end of the movie, oddly enough. I've always told people Star Wars films aren't over until the credits end, you have to sit and watch and listen to the end of the soundtrack. But for Revenge of the Sith, which I went to see alone ... I sat in the front row and was the first person out of my seat and the first person out the rear doors of a mostly full theater. I couldn't leave fast enough.

Oh, it's great alright -- greatly overrated, just like every one of Nolan's films.

That's okay, Batman's not a superhero!

I blame Joel Schumacher. He took Batman so far down into the abyss, that a dark gritty "realistic" reboot was inevitable.

Having gotten that off my chest, I might have walked out on my first veiwing of ROTS, as the sound was terrible. (Like AM radio mono terrible.) The theater was so crammed full of people on opening day, I would have had to physically climb over people just to complain. Thank goodness there wasn't time to order a large soda before it started!

More to the point, I don't like vigilantes, and I generally dislike vigilante movies, so I'm pretty meh on most Batman films.  I liked Unforgiven though, so I guess it depends on some other factors.

I really enjoy the film, although I'll be the first to admit that had it not been for Heath Ledger's performance it wouldn't have been too memorable

I also saw Revenge of the Sith in a packed theatre, which I generally can't stand, but surprisingly the audience was well behaved. If anything, what made me want to walk out was sitting in the very front row and having to look straight up at the screen

Revenge of the Sith was the only time I ever sat in the front row for a film. I figured it was going to be horrible, and I was only seeing it to finish the nightmare, so I figured I might as well experience a front row viewing for the first time.

I was in a similar boat there too. As someone who is very claustrophobic, I tend to avoid theatres unless it's for a film or specific screening that I know will be less crowded, but I was just so compelled to finish out the damn Star Wars prequels that I had to just had to get it over with, even if it meant facing a jam packed theatre to do it.

Well, I'll admit Ledger was good. Hell, he's really the only thing I liked about the movie.

Never walked out on the prequels.

Got really really close to walking out on The Last Airbender. Awful.

I never walked out of any of the prequels, probably because i had my children with me. But i saw people doing so. TPM had a varying degree of people walking out long before the end. When watching ROTS i was surprised by how many got up and walked out. The cinema was 3/4 full at the beginning and by the time Windu confronted palpatine, the cinema was pretty empty. I think i would have joined them but my kids had all fell asleep ( and my wife for that matter). Funnily enough though, the film that gets all the hate, AOTC, had the least amount of people leaving.  It was mainly viewers who didn't go with their kids that left during the three prequels. I think a lot of parents suffered to sit all the way through just for their kids ;)

Didn't walk out on the only prequel I've seen, Phantom.  Didn't like the film, but not enough to leave.  Not sure why.  I thought it was pointless, directionless, terribly written, and terribly acted.  I suppose it was just shock at how bad it was.  Sort of like looking at a train wreck and trying to make sense of it.

I was actually closer to walking out on Return Of The Jedi, but didn't.  It was also shockingly stupid and poorly written, but at least it had Luke.  The rest was just a marketing tie-in and rehash of Star Wars.  Lucas already had the writer's block he was about to unsuccessfully spend twenty years trying to overcome.  ROTJ is where I said goodbye to the franchise.

I've only ever walked out on two movies.  Rambo and Back To The Future II.

I fell asleep during AotC and I didn't see RotS until it came out on DVD.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

I never went to see "Return of the Sith" in a theater, but when I got a home video copy I turned it off about ten minutes into it. Does that count? I have never seen the entire thing. As far as movies I've walked out on in theaters, there is "Son of the Pink Panther", Robin Hood: Men in Tights", and "Man of Steel".

I would say that counts. I don't blame you for shutting it off. I wish there would've been a power failure in the theatre when I saw it so it would've ended.
