We are actually working on a bluray compliant version. We will see about fixing the final scene also.

Fantastic! Any idea on a timescale for that? I'll cancel my existing 1080p download if its only a few days or so away.

Is there a problem with the final scene on both the 720p and 1080p versions?

Thank to everyone involved in this wonderful project. I've downloaded the 720p version and it looks amazing.

I didn't know there *was* a problem with the final scene. Explanations please? Also, for those who prefer the slightly higher video quality the non blu ray compliant 1080p version has, will there be an update to that too?

Just because there is slightly higher chroma resolution with 4:2:2 doesn't mean that it is perceivable. I'd recommend putting out only blu-ray compliant files. Even muxing into a file container such as mkv can have unwanted effects.

The best would be to release the .264 and audio files together and let everybody mux them into whatever they want. I guess then there would be twice as many people asking, hey what do I do with these files? I can't watch them! LOL.

EDIT: BTW, it looks fantastic. Thanks a lot for sharing it with us!

Luke threw twice…maybe.

I agree.  Moreover, eac3to reports that there is something wrong with the frame-rate of the video stream, which might have implications for decoding.

That's not true, the main file itself should fit on a BD-R (without the extras). The main issue is that it's not BD compatible and your player may or may not be able to play it.

Running only the main 1080p file through TSMuxer (no extras) renders a Blu-ray burnable result of 25,264,586,752 bytes. Too big for a single layer.

Of course, the MKV @ approx. 24 GB could be directly burned, but would not be compatible with every BR disc player.

I haven't seen anyone mention this so I figured I should. If the only thing you had released was the scope teaser, it would have been worth it. It's beautiful! Thanks so much for that! =)

Well so much for my reddit joke...

Thanks again for all the kind comments everyone.

We don't have an estimate for the BD disc yet, but we are going to make sure it works correctly, and have a physical disc checked on a bluray player.

Thanks for your patience, and we will keep you posted when finished.

Thanks Harmy, we always appreciate your work and comments, and coming from you that is high praise.

We will be sending you some more clips for this, and then will try getting back to the Return of the Jedi clips for you.

This release looks wonderful.

However I had some corruption right near the end when the Millenium Falcon takes off as well. But you guys seem to be aware of that issue.

All I can say is, I want more (star wars, jedi, color corrected/cleaned versions :P, all of it !) ^_^

I have put up a re-synced BD compatible version with Harmy's audios on demonoid for anyone that's interested. Not trying to reinvent the wheel, but a number of people reported playback problems, and of course I wanted a version with Harmy's audios. Team -1 is aware I've done this, they didn't seem to mind. It would of course be better to sync all the audios to their version rather than do what I did and sync the video, but that's a project for someone else I'm afraid!

Does it fix the corruption right before the credits?

Can anyone give me some tips for getting this up to BR spec?  Didn't have luck with my first go round in handbrake.

Trying to play it from a HDD on the Oppo BDP-93.

Looks stunning on my iMac on VLC though.  :)

Giving it a shot, but I'm a Mac user and have to run it in a VM.  :(

Having a 4:2:2 colorspace is better if one wants to color grade the content themselves.  I'm guessing that's why they did that.  Anyone can recompress a 4:2:0 version for Bluray compatibility.  Can't they?  I mean a baby could do it.

Hey Team Negative One, can you bake me a pecan pie with my bluray file?  Thanks.

Don't forget the whip cream. I know how stingy you guys/gals are.

I must still be a fetus.

RipBot was not working well with my VM.  Anyone have a preset for Handbrake or some simple instructions?  I used the high profile setting built in and made sure to output a full 1920x1080 file for the spec, but it would not work in tsmuxer, nor would the final m4v file work on the Oppo.  First time handbrake has stumped me honestly.
