Each sound track comes from laserdiscs or other sources that were from the original releases. There are no Special Edition sound mixes included. Now there was a mono mix done that has a number of little changes to it. Listen to the 16mm print mix and see if those lines are there. 

Also the interlude you're talking about is in the original release. It's in every home release prior to the special edition and in the 35 mm print that has seen the light of day. 

The officers being destroyed by the asteroid was in the original release as well, but it was usually lost in home video transfers because it was cropped out to fit on a square television. 

Trust us that there are people here who know every little detail about this film and if something was not faithful to the original someone would have spoken up. 

But you are right about the isolated score. There's the piano prelude to the battle of Hoth present on the mix that isn't in the original mix.
