Awesome O.O
wish I had that as my diorama ;-)
The Dagobah miniature is about to get filmed. Some last little tweaks with the lighting, especially the rear illumination, then to fill the room with smoke and start shooting. This is just a quick hand-held test shot and not a representation of how it will appear in the finished version. (Click on image to view it full size)

At the moment's it's Mrs Wan's diningrooma ;-)
That Dagobah scene is amazing! The amount of work put into what you do boggles the mind. One question -- any consideration for the flight path of the X-wing as it crashed into the swamp? At its apparent angle of descent, and based on its heading as it rests, it would have had to have passed right through the trees very close to the base. Those are pretty sturdy looking trees, so either the X-wing would have been destroyed, or, if the trees are flimsy enough, some of them should be knocked down to depict the flight path just prior to the crash.
Not wanting to seem picky... I've had basic crash scene analysis training in my capacity as Safety Chair for my airline's union.
What Frink has typed will be a window into his madness.
Feelin' fine.
Well that's a relief!

But in my defense, if you read my post, it was more of an OBSERVATION than a SUGGESTION. Maybe you should change your mantra to OBSERVATIONS now closed if a simple observation so offends your delicate sensibilities....
I read your post. It was a question (which boils down to "can you fix this?"), not an observation. I can tell from the question mark and from seeing quite a few questions in my time.
Looking at the film again, it doesn't look like any apparent damage to the trees would have shown up by the crash site; Luke just broke a few twigs.
so do we discuss The Shining now ?
hm, a maze on Hoth for the Wampas ;-)

Oh man.....looking awesome!
The detail in that miniature is absolutely stunning! Another small update that proves that ESB:R is going to blow us away.

Looks fantastic adywan!
If you can persuade your wife to let you keep it up 'till Christmas you could use smoke from the kitchen ;-)
Cheers, Paul
Amazing model Adywan! is that the 1/32 Fine Molds X-wing?
Should R2 really be in the X-Wing?
Definitely to start with. the first close up shot is R2 rising out of his co-pilot socket before taking a tumble.

It's the fine molds 1/72 x-wing
I'll be moving up to 1/48 scale or greater for the rest of the saga.

I fucked that up, yeah I meant if it was the 1/72! Thanks for confirming. I remember building that one when it first came out and looking at it right now to get a sense of the miniature actual size....it's huge!
You didn't go as far as installing fiber optics on it, did you? Wouldn't be surprised if you did tbh. Will you light the 1/48 or will all cockpit/landing lights will be digitally added later?
The X-wing has the landing lights , but no cockpit lights. Didn't really need any lighting in the cockpit as the canopy is closed
That model looks AMAZING. I just listened to your Podcast with Star Wars Expanded Fandom. You are doing great work.
I know suggestions are closed. I recall that you are making the TIE Fighters blue. What is your reasoning behind that? I never liked the blue TIEs...but if you have a good explanation and reason for it, then I can get on board with it.

Damn, man! That's incredible. Even though it's invaluable, I hope it goes for a massive amount of cash in the near future to some very lucky fan...with lots of space!
Because the models were blue, but the color was drained from them in A New Hope. They're various shades of blue in ESB already. Ady is just going to try to make them uniformly blue.packersfan said:

That Dagobah Model has come on leaps and bounds, I would say that It now looks like I am looking at a physical representation of the original shot with all the color. Hat's off it looks like it will fit like a glove into the film.
Just a curiosity about this but is this the last shot that needs to be filmed with that model or are the rest of the shots still left to do?
It must have taken ages and I really appreciate how we have seen it transform over time into what it is now the finished product. I really could not see it be like it is now from the previous screens that were shown. I am no model maker at all so to me this stuff is quite alien but all the same impressive.

Looks like Ady had technical difficulties and wasn't able to shoot the model, so Mrs. Wan still has a few more days with this 6x6 foot model in her dining room!

Someone please tell me that leia kissing Luke before swinging across the bridge, and kissing han after saying "You do have your moments" have added sound effects in revisited? Her merely bumping her head on them really bugs me. They just need a very light smooch sound.
