Time to start eBay reporting again?

Sadly, there have been others selling what look like non SW preservation projects from here in the past year.

Does Ebay actually respond to messages finking on these creeps? When they are selling legit items as well as bootlegs, they seem to not attract much scrutiny.

I reported this one.  IF others do the same they would probably take more action than if only 1 person reported it.

They won't tell you what they did of course but if we hit that link in a day or two and it's gone, the seller would probably have been forced to take it down or eBay would do it.

Either way, strength in numbers DOES get results.

I snitched :-D

Not Star Wars but still....

Quite a few of that seller's wares seem a bit dodgy I'm no expert on workprint composites but they may look familiar to some of the fan editing community.

One of the ones I reported has since sold and others are still up so clearly they aren't that fussed over at Ebay.

eBay doesn't care. Remember, they're getting $$$ off of these sales too.

Sounds like a choice of stealing it via torrent or stealing it via Ebay.  If the only two options are both ethically and legally challenging, why does it matter if there is a market catering to people who don't know how and don't want to learn to steal it via torrent?

I actually got my copy from eBay in the late 90s.  At the age of 12, I didn't realize it was an illegal copy since it came in a hard VHS case with some professional looking artwork.  The price was good and the listing said it was very rare, so I jumped on it. :-)

Great, they're ripping off Rifftrax too. :/

Don't feel too bad, there were really only two ways to get it back then. You either bought a copy at a con, or tape traded for it. Even Weird Al bought a copy in a back alley. ;)

OMG. WTF is this?! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-Holiday-Special-/201238741296?pt=VHS&hash=item2edac38130

OMG I want to bid on that for the Wookiee pelt cover alone.

Man, IDK... a hairy cover sounds more appropriate for a porn movie.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Because why let people profit off of stuff they shouldn't be profiting off of?

One of those Mcquarrie art books from a couple of years ago are on eBay right now. Crazy expensive but the book is awesome.
