Not if they aren't potty trained.
Don't let your babies grow up to be laptops.
Don't feed babies to your laptops.

Don't let your fetus dance like a robot from lapland.
Don't robot your baby's laptop.

Its depend on condition left behind your laptop. You can contact with best Laptop Service provider around you to repair your old laptop.
It depends on how much it will cost and what you plan to do with it. If it cost $50 or less and you only plan to use it to surf the web or use open office I saw fix it. If it costs more then that I don't really think it will be worth the time or money.
Oy, of all the dead threads to necropost in ...
Welcome to the forum, Ashry. We're glad you found your way in. Great first post! ;)

Indeed, laptops always work better after a nice go around with a good ole' hacksaw.
The heck?
If anyone still cares, I did sort everything out, and gave the laptop to someone who really needed it. The trouble stemmed from a CD Rom copy protection scheme called Starforce, which installed itself with a collection of classic Namco arcade games. Ironically, I got this game CD for free as the local game shop didn't have it in their computer system, and the sales guy just gave it to me. Sounds like a sinister plot now.
AFAIK, it never bothered my Dad's old Windows XP machine.

How I figured this out, I don't even remember now. I destroyed the CD, but kept the classic 80's tunes that played over the game menu screen. :)
Where were you in '77?
And if no one cares, what happened? ;)
^Then the laptop would have gone to sleep with the fishes.
