See my last post. I copy-and-pasted some stuff out of an article, as well as posted a link to the article itself.

To sum it up, though:
The people turned away in Florida were not allowed to vote because they are felons.

Voter fraud is bad, but so is democrats playing the "race card." Annoys the crap out of me.

Not to completely discredit, or go against I guess, starkiller's post and link - but I live in Florida, so I think I have a pretty accurate grasp on the voting scene here. Im by no means saying that report is wrong, but I think it is oversimplifying to say that the only voters turned away were felons. There is a very strong case, still present in Florida and especially my county (Duval, Jacksonville) of minority voters having their ballots discarded before the initial count, and being prevented from voting all together.
I AM NOT SAYING THAT THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN. NOR AM I JUSTIFYING THE DISENFRACHISEMENT OF MILITARY VOTERS. Im just saying that the case is not as clear cut as some people/reports would have you believe. I know that in my county especially, there are a large number of non-felon citizens who feel their votes were not counted for a number of reasons - the least of which is not race.
At any rate, its sad how far we have spiraled. You would think that things would be a lot tighter this election. Here is first hand experience pointing otherwise. My girlfriend lived in Ohio until about 4 months ago, and she hadnt registered in Florida. She happened to be home last week and went to vote early. When she got there, the people running the poll handed her a ballot without asking for her registration or ID. She voted, sealed the envelope and gave it back. She was never asked for any identification - to prove she was registered, from Ohio, or even old enough to vote!! I just dont understand. It raises many serious questions in my mind about the legitimacy of elections in America.

I certainly hope that the absentee ballots for Pa are counted. It would be unjustifiable if they were not. Regardless, I think this election will be a mess. As somebody else already said, there will be at least one lawsuit. Ive heard from a number of media outlets that America will know by noon on the 10th who the President is. Who knows if that will hold up?

It's not. There is still a gap between the two candidates with Bushie in the lead, but the gap isn't nearly as large as it was before the debates. But preliminary polls mean nothing when it comes down to the real thing. Honestly, I don't even know why people bother with polling before the actual election. There is no point. They never get a truly representative sample of the population. It's pointless.

Surely Lucas couldn't sue us over a political argument.

Then again, if coffee burns are Mcdonald's fault, then I guess anything is possible.

But seriously, compared to about any other forum I have ever been in, this is by fart he one with the fewest flame wars, least name calling, and most civil political debates. (in the absense of a certain ex-forumer)

I also agree that polls that ask 1500 people can never really get a good idea of the political landscape.

If George Lucas sues us all, we're doomned. We'll be forced to work as labor slaves and/or sex slaves in Skywalker Ranch until we reach the age of 75, when slaves can legally challenge their master in a battle of life and death for their freedom or their horrible death.

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

BTW my generation still rocks. We had a mock election at my school, and Bush beat Kerry like 190 to 79!

I think that no matter who wins, a lot of general forgiveness is gonna be needed. This country is so split right now it's just sad.

Well, the good news is that hopefully it will all be over in 36-48 hours.

But until then...
I found what Osama said in his latest tape very interesting, plus the fact that the media appears to be burying it (try to find the complete translated transcript).

Osama said that if Bush was elected, there would be "war" and that if Kerry were elected there was the possibility of a truce.
He then said that states that ended up in the Bush column would be attacked and that Kerry states could be safe.

That tells me that Osama sees Bush doing a better job to win the war on terror. Osama will feel safer with Kerry in office.

"Hopefully" being the key word.

I don't translate Osama's words that way. I view it more as, with Kerry in office, you have someone that is willing to diplomatically work through world problems; whereas with Bush, you could have a guy at your doorstep with a white flag out and he'll still shoot him. Just my two Lincolns.

No one wants a fight.

The problem is that some people don't know where the time for diplomacy ends and the time for direct action begins.
Kerry, when talking about how he would handle the Iran situation during the debates talked about inposing sanctions, then offering some deals, then applying some pressure, then this, then that.

In the mean time Iran continues developing and building their weapons. What happens when they drop a nuclear warhead in the middle of Tel Aviv?

A reactive posture when dealing with terrorists resulted in 3000 deaths on 9/11. We must allow not ourselves to return to those times.

And when it comes to our "allies," several have stated that, regardless of who is in power after this election, they will not provide any support. Diplomacy will do nothing for these countries.
And, after what Kerry said about our current Iraq allies, about them "being the bribed and coersed", a Kerry win could result in lost credibility with these countries.

In the end, as a worst-case scenario, we fail to gain the allies Kerry wants and we lose the allies we have, placing us in a worse situation than we are in now.

Although, why on Earth you want France for anything is beyond me. We all know from past experiences that the only things they're good at is insulting Americans and waving white flags.
