I like it for the most part, BTW the effects look far less CGI in the cinema.

The X-Wing shots are lovely, I'm not going to watch any more trailers after this or get into discussions or get on the hype train, I am going to see this anyway, so don't want to see any more until the day.

The sabre? My take was that it was built 'on the rough' so the hilt parts were kind of necessary as some kind of exhaust to stop the thing blowing up. I like the raw sputtery, homebrew look of it. It is a bit cheesy I guess, but so was a lot of the OT. I liked the X-Wing pilout not having smooth makeup, he has blemishes on his chin, I'm hopeful the characters in the movie look like real people.

All in all, my gut feel is I will enjoy this if I don't watch any more stuff or get caught up in discussion/hype train, before it comes out.

If I can go in relatively fresh, and just take it as a fun sci-fi space opera, filled with some old friends, I think I will get to be 10 years old again for a couple of hours, turn the analytical brain off and just enjoy the adventure.
