I think it looks alright and already better than the prequels, but that's just me.

Forgot to mention that camera angles are not very star warsy, neither is the shot of Boyega appearing out of nowhere

But it looks pretty Indiana Jones style. Does not upset me.

I'm very, very disappointed :-(

I thought it looked like another fan-made trailer - it doesn't look cinematic at all - it all kind of looks like video game cut scenes :-(

Oh, and I f*cking hate that lighsaber - what is this? Game of Thrones?

Honestly if it didn't show the new actors in costume I would have considered it another fake fan-made trailer like that one that came out the other day on Youtube. It looks just about the same.

Who's the guy doing the voiceover? He sounds oddly familiar..

Isn't that Sydow?

 Benedict Cumberpatch?

Does anyone else think that voice is that of Benedict Cumberbatch?

I think we did get Luke.

Where? I don't think that Darth Maul type character was Luke.  That was a very slender person and could be female.

I'm not disappointed in the traditional sense. It could have been better, but I think anyone expecting to see anything close to the level of the OT was just fooling themselves.

I thought it was exciting, and there's almost no way it could be as bad as the prequels.

I won't be able to say more until we see more, but for now, I'm cautiously optimistic. It's a teaser trailer, and boy were we teased.

Instead I think we might have another Disney movie. "Cool" to see. Din't you see the stupid pose the bad guy makes when he ignites his weird lightsaber? like he has to make an effort to hold it? That theatricality is what is "cool" today, even if it has nothing to do with SW! (who imagines Vader being phisycally disturbe by an asset like a lightsaber?)

I love how matter-of-fact Obi-Wan and Vader are in Star Wars when they ready their swords. I mean, yeah, it was the easiest way to go about doing the effect, but it works with the storytelling and all that.

'There has been an awakening' sounds very Sydow-y to me...

I was just thinking that the third stormtrooper looked a bit chubby...

Let's keep in mind that this is 30 years after ROTJ, which means many things have changed. A different look is probably for the better.

I'm glad we didn't see any OT characters in the trailer. It gave us our new characters and gave them a well-needed introduction. The Falcon was a nice touch though.

So, a new book came out and we learned so much, and it is called, “Anguilosaurus, Killer of the Living”.

 Absolutely.

Considering they only finished principle photography a month back a lot can change in the coming year. I'd love to see what this looks like on 35mm film and projected in a theatre. It felt like something new, in a familiar universe, which is just as it should be. Have to say, I do wish we'd gotten a quick glimpse of the original cast though. That JJ - such a tease!

Agreed about the falcon!

I love the pilot helmet. It looks like a modern X-Wing pilot helmet.

I see you're another one of those people who can't help revealing my posts even though you know you shouldn't.  More lol.

THIS! I was so hoping for a throwback teaser.

I'd be careful wishing for throwbacks with Abrams. Into Darkness was enough of a throwback for at least a dozen movies to me.

Seems like the film will indeed feel very much like JJ's style, Star Trek '09-ish. Which is fine with me; I enjoyed that film for how Star Wars-like it was.

The soccer ball droid was a little weird, as was the red lightsaber. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the 'big three,' but that's all right.

I said from the beginning that I am hoping for a movie about as good as Trek '09 and/or ROTJ.

My stance on revising fan edits.

I think that it was fairly decent. I've basically accepted to myself that the original trilogy is STAR WARS and the rest is just filler - for lack of a better term. So I don't get angry about the prequels or the EU or Droids or the Ewok films or the TV shows or video games. My personal investment with Star Wars is making sure the original films are preserved so I don't really have the energy or inclination to bitch about a franchise that's been milked to death already. Anything anyone creates from here on out is going to feel like a fan film as far as I'm concerened, but I hope it's a good fan film.

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

When I saw that rolling volleyball droid, I was sure this was going to turn out to be a false teaser -- a joke teaser, you could say. But no, it's serious -- completely, utterly serious.

And that lightsaber -- I almost laughed when that stupid light-crossguard popped out. It feels like it was done for comedic effect.

Suffice it to say, I liked absolutely nothing about this teaser other than the cool new stormtrooper armour.

If the actual movie doesn't pan out better than this lameness, then I am going to repeatedly murder Abrams in my dreams for the rest of his life.

Well, looking the teaser over a few times, I'm facing the fact that it will look like JJ Trek.  But if that's the worst than so be it.  I loved Star Trek '09, so it can't be bad, just not exceeding my expectations.
