On another subject, the republican controlled congress is going to destroy large portions of civilization thans to their energy hungry policies, leading to the worst case scenario of climate change (6-10 degrees celsius) as already set in stone in the history books. If they are going to remorselessly manslaughter billions of people for the energy lobby's greed, then they deserve the worst death possible. They are going to be worse than the nazis and communists combined; they should be all assassinated.

since none of you believe in climate change anyways, you're all going to say this belongs in the politics thread.

Why is no one responding to my post!?!? Doesn't anyone know climate change is going to kill all humanity by 2100, and that we'll have two essentially back to back mass extinctions (65mya)? That anyone who voted republican this year is be default a mass murderer who deserves to be shot? That Bush v Gore was the death certificate of humanity because the right wing fucks didn't want a democrat in the White House? That the United States of 2014 is brick for brick an  exact replica of Nazi occupied Europe ca.1944? Why can't I go off the rails if the world is currently in the worst possible hell conceived by any intelligent being?!?!

I don't take any medications for mental health problems. I'm sorry the rest of you have problems with my anger over real issues like the environment and women's rights.

Hey, if we're all extinct by 2100, then I know for sure that I won't have to read any generalfrievous posts.

BRING ON THE NEXT CENTURY!

A change of 6-10 degrees is not going to wipe out mankind. It just means that Canada is going to get more crowded. :(

At least Canada is a great country :)

Sorry I brought up climate change because it went nowhere. Can we talk about Cosby again?

I think we should put that up in the Good News thread!

It totally sucks that I am living in the last decades of humanity, and that all life on Earth will probably be wiped out. I honestly want some support to cope with this existential end of life. I know you don't like me, but can anyone help me please?

Well I'd hate to be that guy to push drugs or drinking on somebody.

So I truly encourage you to seek help from friends in real life. Online friends cannot do much. I'm certain you have people who care about you and can offer real support, including a realistic pov.

I don't have any real friends, and I honestly don't know where to go for support. I really don't; hence why I'm asking you all.

The largest extinction event in history -- the Permian-Triassic extinction event -- wiped out 96% of all marine species and 70% of all terrestrial vertebra species. Yet look at the Earth now -- chockful of life in all it's various forms.

Somehow, I don't think something as relatively minor as global warming is going to be the straw which breaks the Earth's back.

I disagree. Global Warming WILL destroy 100% of all living organisms on Earth within the next century. We have never seen this before; and science will probably confirm my worst fears a few years from now. They could predict a 10-12 C rise in temperature by 2100 instead of 4-6 C. We could see South America, Africa, and half of Asia rendered uninhabitable much sooner than we expect; maybe by 2030 or 2040. The news is getting progressively worse every year.

I guess that will be the end of us as human beings and the world as we know it, but don't worry since everything is a cycle and in a few million years the conditions may change and life will flourish again :) or maybe the world will remain a dirty lifeless rock ball until the sun runs out of Hydrogen and bye-bye solar system :(

Anyways... ''carpe diem'' ;)

But only those meds prescribed by a competent doctor.    I would also suggest therapy.   Go to your primary doctor and tell him your problems and see what he suggests you do.

Scientists were predicting last winter that the icecap over the North Pole would be gone in 2015 (no joke). They seem to suck at predicting things.

Regardless, how would a 10-13 degree rise in temperature wipe out all living things? The temperature of the world has dropped and risen to far greater extremes in the past, so why would it wipe everything out this time? I can't imagine that everything would be wiped out if it was 35 to 40 degrees C in the summer and -20 to -10 degrees in the winter in Alberta (which is what it would be like with a 10 degree change). I'm pretty sure most things could survive within that temperature range, or at least move north (or be moved north, in the case of plants). Also, just because the good ol' U.S. of A. is warming up does not mean that the whole world is. Antarctica, for instance, is as cold as ever, if not colder.
