I can't wait for this movie to come to Bluray so I can watch it with my family.
Glad you made it to a screening. One of us! One of us! ;)
I should make the trek to the local bargain theater while it's still playing.

And the theater was completely empty, and that was extra nice.

Yeah, it's been out for a while now. It reached $330 million last weekend though. I think it's going to remain the box office champ of the year.

Here's a list of the bonus features on Guardian's upcoming Blu-Ray:
-- Never-Before-Seen Deleted Scenes: ‘Fake Laugh’ (:23), ‘The Klyn Will Have to Do’ (:41), ‘No, I’m the Stupid One’ (:27), ‘Sisterly Love’ (1:40), ‘Dancing Guard’ (:45)
-- Making-of Featurettes: ‘Guide to the Galaxy with James Gunn’ (20:01), ‘The Intergalactic Visual Effects for The Guardians of the Galaxy‘ (6:50)
-- Exclusive Look at Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2:08)
-- Gag Reel (3:42)
-- Audio Commentary with director James Gunn
Here's a sweet video Gunn posted on Facebook, a clip from one of the featurettes. It starts off with an NES style Guardians game, which is totally tits just by itself.
Here's another "featurette tease" talking about the music.
And here's a little clip of Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana having an "epic dance battle."
Here's a clip highlighting the Collector's lair.
And here's a bit of Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket.
Last but not least, here's a description of what you WON'T find on the Blu-Ray. Gunn describing what got cut from the end:
There are three characters that got cut out [of the "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" montage]: Nebula, the Collector and Grandpa Quill. Nebula and Collector we decided, at a certain point, they’re kind of bad guys in the first movie. It was a real joyous experience with that finale so we thought we’d keep it to the characters that were part of “the good team.” Which includes Yondu. He did fight on the good guys side. So we thought we would keep it to them.
Grandpa Quill we cut because he was in old age make up and we were a little afraid people wouldn’t recognize that it was him from the beginning of the movie. And also, it was a pretty sad moment. It was Grandpa Quill and he has this photograph of Meredith and Peter as a little boy and he looks up at the stars and we go up to the stars and it was really sweet. It means that he must have seen Quill getting abducted at the end of that day and is still waiting for him to return but it was freaking sad so we took it out.
Nebula’s was actually my favorite. Nebula’s I really liked a lot because she’s lost her arm and she’s just pissed off and she’s just walking through this field all pissed off with a busted Ravager vehicle behind her. And she’s just pissed off and I loved it.

Me too! Oh wait...

So, we're basically getting stiffed on deleted scenes for the inevitable double dip two and half years from now. Thanks a lot, Disney. :/

Please elaborate on the stiffed-ness you've heard about, as from what I'm reading it sounds pretty decent...

Audio Commentaries are my favourite feature so I'm pleased.

Yeah the extras are pretty lacking compared to most classic DW DvDs. That is why I will be buying this one used. I refuse to pay full price for a release the studio has put no effort into.

Doh! I should have scrolled up. Thanks.
I can maybe see why the Grandpa scene might not get included, as it could possibly contradict what Gunn is planning for the second film in some way and the Nebula shot sounds like it was just a single shot. Also the Grandpa thing might have just been one shot, they sounded like unused parts of the end montage. The extended montage would have been nice though. You never get all the unused footage on any DVD package but if it's got the major deleted stuff I'm happy. I could have gone for a 3-hour making-of documentary ;-)
I hope those mentioned scenes don't become Disney streaming exclusives like with the Thor2 Blu-Ray because that really p*ssed me off.

Yeah paying full price for a Bluray and then having half the extras online makes me mad, that is the reason I have not bought Thor 2 on Bluray yet. For $25 they can put the extras on the disc so people like me who lack highspeed can watch them.

If I'd seen that Starlord dance ^ before I'd seen the movie I'd have assumed it was Pratt goofing off for the blooper reel. That's what was so fun about this movie.

Don't get me wrong, Thor2 is still a great Blu-Ray package with loads of extra content and waaay more than most releases have. It was just annoying to find a few pieces were missing.

You know, I was just thinking how tragic it was for Quill's Grandfather.
He lost his daughter to cancer, and his grandson vanishes all in the same night. Bummer! That man's last years must have been very rough.

I agree that only about 5 minutes of deleted scenes is kind of weak, but who knows, maybe besides the extra shots from the ending, there wasn't much else deleted.

Entertainment Weekly has a look at one of the deleted scenes, between Gamora and Nebula.
http://insidemovies.ew.com/2014/11/13/guardians-galaxy-deleted-scene-gamora-nebula/
This could be the "Sisterly Love" scene listed in the special features, but that has a runtime of 1min40sec and this is just 1min.
So yeah, maybe they're stiffing us on deleted scenes.

YYYeeeeaaahhh:(
I am pretty sure he drank himself to death somewhere.
I just think it's bit of a tease to tell us these scenes exist, and then tell us they aren't going to be included. Not like there isn't room on the disc for this stuff.
Of course, there will probably be ten minutes of promos and crap unrelated to the actual movie at the beginning, that we have to manually skip over either way.

Weird, I didn't get the impression they were very close at all. I thought it was Quill's mother dying that had brought them together, (since somebody had to look after Peter) along with whoever all those other people were in the hospital room. Presumably all relatives.

So far we have what, 10 MCU movies and 0 double-dips, so I don't think we need to worry about these deleted scenes popping up in a future release.

Actually, the "Phase One" briefcase box set that included the first two Iron Mans, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America 1, and The Avengers included a bonus disc with more deleted scenes for the movies than the standalone releases did. So they could be saving them for the eventual "Phase Two" box set.
I was not aware of that.
