I think it's every sci-fi/horror fan's duty to watch The X-Files at least once. The mytharc with the alien conspiracy is an internally inconsistent, incoherent mess that goes absolutely nowhere, but the excellent characters along with the standalone monster-of-the-week episodes more than make up for those failures.

Seconded that The X Files is required viewing for any ... well, for anybody, really. Personally, I recommend watching seasons 1-5, the first movie, and seasons 6-7 in that order. Even though the season isn't very good and Season 6 wrapped up the mytharc, Requiem is exactly how the show should have ended, and other S7 episodes offer closure for other lingering storylines that Season 6 didn't wrap up.

Season 8 is actually slightly better than Season 7, but it tries to start up a new, not-very-interesting mytharc, and Season 9 is just abysmal, leading to a clip-show series finale that sets up a movie ending we never got (and at this point, we probably won't ever get).

In other, non-X Files news, The Walking Dead is finally living up to its potential! If only Scott Gimple were hired as showrunner when Darabont was first fired, and not after we had to endure two seasons of Glen Mazzarra...

Did I mention I finally finished Arrested Development?

I finished it.  It was fantastic.

Isn't it just?

It took me awhile to warm up to Season 4, but it's probably my favourite. I think I'd like it less if it was all in proper order, because there's a lot of hilarious reveals and "Oh so THAT'S what/who that was!" moments that you'd lose.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

Yeah, I thought about a chronological edit, but I agree that it works so great the way it is.

Had better writing? =P I certainly wouldn't have let Michael Cera near the script.

I just watched the first two episodes of a show that a lot of people have been bugging me to try for a while but I never got around to trying until now for some reason. I didn't even know this show existed until it was off the air.

It's a comedic spy series called Chuck and it has a Sci-fi twist.  Let's just say the people who said I would like this series were right on the money.  I loved every second of the first two episodes so much that I just ordered the first season on Bluray off of Amazon market place.  That is how much fun this series is to watch. it's smart and it is funny while also having a cast of who's who of Sci-Fi supporting characters in it such as Kern from TNG,Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect, and Freaking Jayne from Firefly.  This series is just perfect.  A sci-fi twist, fun spy plots,a bit of flirting between the leads, and the type of stories where the hero's knowledge of flight sims saves his life.  Talk about fun.  I am glad people kept pushing me to try this show because I am loving it!

I love the opening to the second episode where Jayne is about to murder the shoplifter right in the parking lot!:)

Now that's what I call moving some merchandise!

Still I am disappointed that Adam Baldwin didn't say "Chill out" when he put the guy in the freezer. Is post Kill quips 101 just not a required course at spy school any more?!

Oh and to add to the who's who of Sci-fi supporting characters Robert Duncan McNeal is a producer.  All I can say is wow.

"That's my sister saving that bad guy!"

This show just keeps getting better and better,it has plot twists and characters that I like.  This is the best comedy I have seen since Better off Ted.  This is amazing.

Oh and as someone who has worked in the electronics section of a major retailer can i just say those bits are dead on. A perfect parody of what really goes on in those stores.

Hmm, I had a friend who was really into it back in the day. Never bothered to really look into it. I just might yet someday.

Let me put it this way. This series is so well done that there is a slacker character who I not only don't want to kill with fire but I really like,do you have an idea how rare that is for me?  So yeah Chuck is well worth checking out.

I mean I think i would watch this show even if it was just a bunch of guys working in a retail store without the spy stuff. The well done spy stuff is just the icing on the cake.  This really is one of my top 20 shows and for someone who has seen so much Tv that if I had a youtube show it would most likely be called The Tv Critic that is saying something.

Check it out because I am sure you will enjoy it.

Oh and am I the only one who wishes Adam Baldwin would do more comedy? Because he can make me laugh with just once facial expression.

I've started to watch Babylon 5 for the first time. Needless to say, I can definately see what all the fuss is about.

Do yourself a favour and avoid spoilers. Especially in regards to guest stars. Your head may well explode.

My favorite show along with Doctor Who and it only gets better after season one. If you can get past the fact that for budget reasons they were the first Tv show that had to use mostly CGi effects and focus on the writing you will find a really enjoyable and deep show that also has a sense of humor.  I know a lot of people are down on season five but I went in not knowing about it's reputation and I didn't have a problem with it.  This show is so good that the first time I started watching it from Netflix I couldn't wait for each disc to come in and ended up blowing a tax return check buying all the boxsets and movies at local video store at one time and I watched season three in one sitting only getting up to go to the bathroom.

Enjoy:)

Oh and I just remembered that Adam Baldwin did a voice in Mass Effect 2 as well:)

The CG doesn't really bother me, actually. I'd prefer physical models, of course, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. Besides, I've seen more recent shows with worse CG.
