I'm bored by lightsabers at this point. Back in the OT days they served the story. Now they're there to sell toys - the more the better. I'd be up for a Star Wars movie without lightsabers, honestly.

Plagued? It helped authors so they were not stepping on each others toes. You think even KOTOR was bad?

KotOR1 is a pretty bad game overall and in its best moments it's barely mediocre. It's the usual Bioware fare with horrible writing, abysmal quest design, poor story etc. The idea for the twist was pretty good, but the foundations for it just weren't there. KotOR2, on the other hand, despite all its technical shortcomings, and even despite the fact it wasn't finished, was great.
