I'm assuming you're playing from my last move? If you want to backtrack a couple moves, we can do that, since you were playing with the wrong army. B-d4

Yes, from the last move. I don't think it's necessary to backtrack at all. Even if I might have made a different move here or there, I probably would have played largely the same. It's no big deal.
But with that, I'm not sure how your bishop gets to d4.
It's a bishight--it moves backwards as a knight.
After you castled, I moved Bxf5. Are you continuing from that move, or are you going back to my B-d3 move and continuing from there?
What about three dimensional chess?
Why don't we play a game of Chess with Different Armies with the same armies as each other? :D That will allow us to (re)adjust to the unfamiliar pieces so that the following game, which we can play with different armies, will be a fair competition rather than a determination of a person's ability to familiarize themselves with the pieces. That is assuming that one of us plays a familiar army the second game.
You pick the army, or if you'd rather, the armies. I don't believe we've played the Meticulous Mashers yet, though I can't remember for sure.

How did I miss this post? This must have been when you did all those silly bumps. Assuming you still like me, I think it would be fun to play. I've seen a few versions, but I've never played a real game. The official rules to Star Trek's Tri-dimensional chess are not very playable, but there is a cool variant I've read about called the Kobayashi Maru variant. To me it more accurately reflects what is shown on screen, and seems pretty playable (and complicated).
I'm sorry to keep you waiting Ric. I"ve been very busy. I will try to get a game going soon.

Oops wrong thread.
So we never did get one of those games going. Tobar sounded potentially interested in a 3d variant. You suggested possibly shogi4, but here not to confuse the other game in the other thread. Or perhaps we could try one of the Chess with Different Armies games you suggested. Sorry we never finished the last game. Life got really busy for me around that time, and it is better now, though still plenty busy. Part of the problem is when I want to get a bunch of moves in a day. I just need to be content with a slow, long game. It's up to you, Ric. Or Tobar. Or anyone else.
Well, we can give the Meticulous Mashers a go, but it might get kind of annoying if my computer continues crashing, since I'd have to load up two different games every day. I'm willing to try it though (going with the suggestion I made above that we both play with the same armies the first time round).
Sounds good. Want to start us off?

Haven't forgotten about this. Had to get Zillions installed on my new computer, had to get the game file, and I've hardly been on my own computer, mostly typing from others. I will make a move tonight before bed, I assure you, but that will probably be after midnight my time.
Humph. What a dumb name for the piece I'm about to move.

Whoever named it should have thought of the potential confusion such a piece could cause in algebraic notation.
Indeed, just as I should have payed more attention to the sorts of moves it can make.

Forgot to say check. I don't want to edit the post so you know I didn't change the move.
Oh dear, this is progressing a little too quickly.
