SW EP 1: Shadow of the Sith - by L8wrtr (Released) — Page 2

I am trying to get my hands on L8wrtr's Prequel Trilogy because they seem to be highly rated on fanedit.org compared to other edits.

The problem I'm having with getting them from fanedit.info is that JDownloader takes WAY too long to download (I've been trying to get Dawn of the Empire for over a week now and it still isn't finished). It would be much faster and easier for me if I could find a torrent for them instead.

I'm only interested in the highest quality HD versions (which I think would be the BD versions unless I'm mistaken and it's the AVCHD). Is there anyone on here who could possibly help me with this?

Since noone has offered to help me with this, I've started downloading them the slow way. When I'm done I can upload them to MySpleen if there's demand for that but other people will have to keep them alive through seeding.

At the moment I have the Blu Ray version of Episode III Dawn of the Empire if anyone wants it (about 22.2GB). It's going to take me a while to download the other two.

Hi deepanddark20

Did you manage to download these before Fanedit.info was suspended? You posted in Nov and it closed in Dec so I'm hoping that you did - not sure when/if fanedit.info will be back up, but I'd be happy to seed L8wrtr's edit if you could upload it somewhere. Have a very fast internet connection.

Let me know if I can help, L8's edits need to be free ;-)

Hello. I am new to fan edits and this forum but a longtime SW fan. Has anyone had any luck locating a place to download the bluray L8wrtr edits? Thanks!

I managed to get them all in bluray on Usenet. I had to work out his to use it though. Two were straight bluray rips (iso) and one was a converted mkv I think. They're well worth the effort of locating.

Thanks a lot for getting back to me! Did you have to pay for Usenet? Any chance you could create a torrent?

Yep, I did pay for usenet - Just read up about it. I used Giganews (and cancelled my account after one month) When I posted my first message I'd no idea about using Usenet but there's plenty of info on the net (youtube is great for tutorials).

I had a seed warning a couple of years ago from my ISP so I can't risk torrenting, sorry.

Anyone up for adding the L8wrtr prequel trilogy to MySpleen?? I would be happy to seed!

I downloaded this (BD25), being an avid Star Wars fan but not an obsessive one.

This one was recommended in a thread on here. I also watched hal9000's and thought no offence to him but this is the better edit. Though some combination of hal9000's and this would be the "perfect" happy medium. I'm not ambitious enough to go there with that thinking.

I was wondering if it is DTS-HDMA audio?? There seems to be no info on that using PC in a blu-ray software player, both streams list ac3 448kbps. Why is there 2 exactly the same??

I'm not saying you can't enjoy a lossy fan edit, but Id never watch my purchased blu-ray again if this was in lossless.

p.s can't wait for ep II and III, downloading II now. Should be watching tomorrow :)

I've noticed there doesn't seem to be much interest in the fanedit community of doing lossless audio. Not really sure why, for anyone going to the extra effort to do an HD Blu-Ray edit. Seems like they'd want that extra quality in the soundtrack...

I, for one, was somewhat limited by the various audio sources I drew upon. Even if I used the BR audio as a base, I made use of audio from other places and it seemed silly to export it much higher than the lowest common denominator.

My stance on revising fan edits.

It is not DTS-HDMA, for a few reasons. One is similar to Hal, not all sources used were at that quality, but the larger reason for me was simply I was not able to find a workflow in FCP7 that was within my abilities and patience (FCP is limited in the audio formats that it can render in program, and with the thousands of audio cuts I made and testing and re-clipping etc..., there was simply no way I could have completed the project before throwing my computer out the window or getting fit for a straight jacket.

Regarding the two tracks, one is primary, the other is an alternate audio ending for the close of the movie, otherwise they are identical. If you downloaded the BD25 then the primary one is my preferred/favorite, but the alternate audio track is for purists who would rather the traditional 'crash' of the theme as the screen does an iris wipe to the credits.

As long as it's not against l8wrtr's wishes, or any site policies, I can seed his fanedits on Myspleen, as soon as I am done grabbing them with JDownloader.  I just started, so I have no idea how long it will take.  I am going for the BD25s.

I hate to dig up an old thread (especially being new here, please don’t kill me), but I’d really love if someone could provide a reliable source to find Dawn of the Empire. The only working links from fanedit.info are the ones to the DVD version (which looks awful) since RapidShare shut down and the Mega link for the BD version seems to be empty. I found a torrent, but no one else seems to have the entire file and the download is perpetually stuck at around 77%.

I’m trying to complete my collection of l8wrtr edits and despecialized edits to marathon before TFA, so I’d really appreciate any help I can get.

If this violates any rules or anything, I’ll delete this immediately.

Your spleen has them all.

I concur however with the previous thought of combining this and Hal’s to make perfect edits. This one removes generally everything I wanted removed, but the editing is not completely seamless. Hal’s is edited seamlessly but leaves in a few things I would like taken out, although his complete removal of the underwater gungan city was nice.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a MySpleen invite so I can’t access the tracker. Do you know if there are any other ways to get the file?

EDIT: I think I’ll just live with Q2’s Episode III edit for now. It seems like it should go pretty well with l8wrtr’s Episode I and II.

L8wrtr’s edits can be found on kickass torrent.

I’ve read in an Hal9000 post that L8wrtr was working on a V2 version on his edit for ROTS.

For some reason, I find my copies of L8wrtr’s edits to have a noticeable issue with video noise compared to the edits of others I have (Q2, Seciors, HAL 9000). I’m wondering if it’s just my copies, but I have the Blu Ray versions (BDMV folder) and they are 1080p technically so I would expect to not see this noise issue. It becomes especially bad and noticeable in Episode III Dawn of the Empire. Does anyone know why I would be seeing this?

Author

Never noticed (in fact I just finished Ep III) but I’m watching the AVCHD versions.

It’s striking when I compare my copy of L8wrtr’s to HAL 9000’s version. The video noise is irritating in L8wrtr’s. Maybe I’ll try getting ahold of the AVCHD version for comparison. I figured the Blu Ray version would look the best. It certainly has the largest file size.

Can you pm me a link to your edits of episode 1, 2, 3 please? I own the first 6 of the star wars films and i would love to see your edit of the films.
