I didn't expect you to use your rook, but now that you have, it leaves open the easy trade of rooks as well, if you are interested. We have to be careful so as not to give your dad a big advantage while our pieces remain in hand, but it could be a worthwhile venture.

Erstwhile, I still think this will be an extremely difficult chase, but just knowing that your dad's king can only kill by illumination when the targeted pieces are undefended raises my hopes. If you want to know the truth, I still expect to lose, but I look forward to the merry chase.

Again, just to be clear, the king can kill multiple pieces by illumination in the same turn, as long as they aren't defended.
