Yes indeed, the bishops only cover 1/3 of the hexes on this board rather than 1/2 of the squares of square board. Meanwhile rooks can still cover every cell of either board. On the plus side, the creator weakened the regular rooks and their promoted value is what you would consider a regular rook, while the regular and promoted bishop are analogues. When promoted, the bishop is far more valuable in this game.
